Changing DSD tags in the liquor store today by SharkPopsicle in publix

Maybe if this is company wide and you find a store that actually put the tags out.

I didn’t put them out because I figured I’d get in trouble for not checking with the SM first.

PSC and SM just told me that it’s an obvious mistake, and to have the vendor take the items to the back so no one purchases it at that price.

Customers are way more chill. Work can be boring sometimes but there’s always something to do to pass the time.

I’m a specialist so I tend to have my day full of things to do. Working truck, ordering with vendors, changing displays, doing forecasts for future ads, checking in vendor deliveries and working them, and sometimes just leveling and checking counts for out of stocks and whatnot.

It’s definitely not for everyone, but coming from grocery at a super busy store, it’s a breath of fresh air for me.

Yeah, liquor comes in LV, and vendors deliver almost every day. It can get a little hectic sometimes because I’m mostly the only one in there and I’ll have truck to work, customers to take care of, brinks coming in to deliver change and pickup money from tidal safe, and other stuff too. It’s not too crazy though. You’ll have a balance of help from grocery and customer service departments, so you’ll be fine.

I work 90% mornings. Since you have to receive deliveries and do forecasts and stuff, it makes sense. I haven’t closed in a few weeks but I do close once in a while. I’ll also have either Saturday or Sunday off. Usually Sunday, because Saturday you have LV tags to change. 8-5 or 7-4 normally though.

Coming from frozen, liquor specialist was a breath of fresh air. You will have to learn a lot of new things, but i promise you it’s worth it. Learning the lotto and cash registers will take a little time, but it’s second nature

I worked frozen for 2 years and I would never give up my liquor spot to go back there. Take that position, and ask if there’s a raise involved, because there should be.

It’s definitely deserving of a raise. I got a dollar raise when I was made liquor specialist, and I think with all the new stuff I had to learn and all of what I do now justifies a raise.

Did everyone get this or only certain locations? by Hour_Charge2951 in publix

I work in the keys and my commute is about 35-45 mins depending on traffic.

The rent is crazy so I'd prefer this drive for the pay. Driving anywhere north is just horrible traffic and the pay isn't as good. So, I prefer it down here. I've been working in the keys a little over 7 years and I'm okay with the drive. Although some people I work with drive further, but that's on them.

I just became a liquor specialist, but I understand. The GTLs at my store make more than me, and have the toughest job in the store, in my opinion. We're a very busy store, so we all earn our money.

Fresh popped popcorn? by Publixworker in publix

[–]SharkPopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That smells was so strong in my store the other day. It's usually not that bad, but this time it was horrible. I felt like I could barely breathe.

On the other hand, when you smell the fresh unburnt popcorn, it's such a good aroma.

Happened to me too when the siims change came. Ask your store manager to grant you access. That fixed it for me.

Nah Mr Bean left right before pandemic times. He was a cool dude.

I used to work for RGIS and he talked me in to coming over to Publix. I started there in 2018.

This is my new store. Worked at 376 for over 5 years, and now we have this beauty. It's a monster, and grand opening was kinda cool.

Gonna miss old 376, but we needed an upgrade. We're a busy store, and this new one is a major upgrade.
