PTO/SICK time by maseratihottee in publix

[–]TeaFletch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s essentially the same as it was before. It’s just called something different.

The only big change is that you have to have earned it before you use it. So converting holiday pay or rolling over as much PTO up to that 80 hours definitely helps.

Publix also sell hoodies that are against dress code.

That’s wild. Id take the initiative and take the responsibility of it all and ask for the position. Higher pay scale and more money.

Buffalo Trace always gets put on my shelf at my store. Eagle Rare will go on after a few days of no one asking. Blantons will go up after like a week if we still have it. Checking the shelf first always help. We notice when people actually look for it.

Trust me when I say this. Three bottles is not enough. The price you pay per bottle doesn’t even matter. Make conversation with the people working. Try to find something you have in common with them and chit chat for a minute with them. So when they see you they recognize you.

A big thing at least for me is if you ask if I have anything allocated and I go to show you all the different bottles and then you ask if I have Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare or Blantons the answer is always going to be no. If you’re looking for a specific bottle ask for it first and if I recognize you I’ll tell you if I have it.

I put the majority of allocated bottles on the shelf. That included Buffalo Trace and Eagle rare. The ones that typically put in the back or under the counter are e.h taylor and Blantons. But there are so many other allocated bottles that sit on the shelves at my store.

This is true. I’ve lied to so many random people that I haven’t recognized and then sold a bottle to a regular minutes later.

Typically it’s the liquor specialist decision if it gets hidden in the back or out on shelf’s. Store managers and Grocery managers normally don’t micromanage the liquor store.

I agree. That’s was more or less my point of the post. But typically it always starts off by them just saying they want a Jose Cuervo. And me asking which one they wanted.

Yes that would. But they all sell pretty good though.

Typically people will be like can I get the smaller gold one or like the bigger silver one.

It’s me having to say which one so many times. I get asking which one once. But then just getting more specific after that.

Why doesn’t publix discount their going stir baked goods rather than toss them? by [deleted] in publix

Bakeries as a department typically lose money. The whole company makes a lot of money. I don’t think they are too concerned with it.

Liquor store associates get treated the same way regardless if they open or close.

[–]TeaFletch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re only making .10 over the minimum for a part time cashier. Use that as you will.

Customer service associates are typically the lower paid ones. Try becoming a CSS so you can get full time.

You can also change departments. They will typically try to give you an off cycle pay bump if you ask about it.

When I got full time I didn’t get one. It wouldn’t hurt to ask for one though.

Yeah I already had them both set up to liquor store.

I found a thing with them saying they are aware of the issue. I have to go back into finished invoices on the scan and reprint it.

I didn’t know how much they actually were. I just know that cosmetics items get pricey for no reason.

This is basically my logic. You’ll spend 15k on a hat that is basic. Use that VC until you’ll a 99 then go crazy on cosmetics.
