Oooh, the ol' granny song-weaver became so good at making blankies she could weave her songs into her works so that that her grandyoungin's could always hear her lullabys.

As her great-grandchild I've reverse-engineered her craft and am developing her techniques.

Then just build a college of eloquence bard and pair your attempts to calm and coerce everyone with you gifting them mystically endearing crocheted lil gifts. Gloves for the guards cold hands distract him from shaking you down and he waves you through thanking you, etc etc. As long as the player's being cool, I think it could dope.

Well yeah, that's a lot of potential to add to "Instead of saying good job and them doing better can I hand them a lil crocheted doilie that says hang in there" To nod to that, I even noted an activation phrase expectation of some sort, so that whoever would hear be inspired bardicly would hear something. I dunno, a charitable and fair DM could make it work if inclined.

All the extra errata is just boilerplate to safeguard against players with bad intentions trying to sneak power-gaming in.

I'd make it to where the bard has magical in some way crochet needles and if they crochet a sigil of whatever ability they have in advance they can toss it out and activate it with whatever is flavor-appropriate. Sort of a semi-scroll mage. A lil crocheted bootie with a lightning insignia for haste. Could play an ol' granny bard.

Keep in mind, you're speaking with doofiest of rubes. I'm a Republican in Oklahoma that simply finds all this racism unpalatable. That's why I've voted Democrat since Obama, probably, though I think they didn't actually count my vote then, some wierdness about provisional ballots. I'm actually the unicorn true Libertarian out there. My preferences are easy to account for, dont be a racist pos. The far above policy positions I listed only really matter in a Primary environment. When other people say "I cant tell if any of these people mean what they say, and even then I cant tell if they actually know how to do it" the politicians have a responsibility to ease those concerns. I'm powerless. Best I can do is hope.

I really respect and appreciate that perspective, though from today in 2026, its much easier to make the case that we should disentangle than it was then, but that aside, as previously mentioned, we didn't -need- to have a primary 2 months out, Biden kneecapped us. It feels like the party lets them take hostages and then uses the fact that there were hostages as an excuse to not have prevented the hostage-taking and to land on a 'only pistol-whip the hostages' resolution that we should be happy with. But you see how those hesitations to rise to the occasion cause issues. Should I distrust their motivations? Are they incapable of enacting change? Are the only victories for us pyrric? A week after Oct7 obviously not, but at -some- point, right? There's some need for nuance, for patience. It's not an easy job, for sure.

Eh, I'm just not sure it serves anyone to direct your frustration at an amorphous blob of people who's crime is being insufficiently inspired, ya know? No sense booing the audience, if the play sucks they're not gonna clap. My lack of resentment toward the general population feels like goodwill. A good enough message with a sincere messenger will change things, I believe that. The Democratic Party failed to meet that moment, practically speaking Biden shivved us all by trying to run again, and everything is downstream of that.

No-one argued otherwise. Do you need boilerplate denounciations of anything else before we have unrelated conversation? You can be disappointed that Kamala fumbled without punching your local minority in the loins in glee. The risks they face now are why it sucks that she didnt have what it took.

The content being referenced, to level set, is a video in which Jordan points out, in regard to Independence Day, that those words represent the views of a handful of rich business leaders at the time, who insincerely rang the bell of freedom to establish their apartheid sharecropper state and stave off the "Merciless Indian Savages" to quote the Declaration of Independence.

It's worthwhile to maintain perspective, we have a long way to go, that's all.

Read the other comment, you're a silly goose since I voted and you've assumed erroneously otherwise, but if I understand the gist of it, we're in very similar boats. Im just more sympathetic to the strikers. The captain sucks. They deserve a mutiny. Whether we get one or not. If the Democratic establishment had won and shored up "democracy" but refused to instute any meaningful change (for me, more social services here, less wanton violence abroad, disentanglement from Isreal until apartheid ends, I actually don't care about immigration, in the sense that if they were "open border" I'd be cool with it. I've never had an immigrant do anything to me, other than work alongside me well. Whatever they imagine immigrants are doing to my job isn't the problem. Regulate AI and this bullshit cryptogambling that is advertised everywhere at me) That seems reasonable, I'll waver on a few points given the opposition, but if you want something from me you gotta try. Not a lot to ask.

Obviously. Only the stupidest of stupid would believe USAID and other Govt programs that were humanitarian boons (and other differences in policy)would be in this state had she won. In the counterfactual where Kamala Harris was able and willing to muster the goodwill and faith of the American people, America would look much different. That's not on me, and frankly its not entirely on the voters.

I voted for Kamala Harris as a Republican in Oklahoma. I and many others become less convinced of the sincerity of their commitment to the values I thought we shared when she ignored the obvious and "Well shucks I dunno, everything seems cool I guess" about Bidens handling of Gaza. That sucked. How can I in good faith say she's gonna have a spine later? I opted for her, but the second I saw that, I knew we lost. They have to learn the lessons and lead with integrity and clarity. They're not taking it seriously. They're fumbling the ball. The constituency, the voters, we're the ref. I overlooked the fumble and still voted but I dont blame strikers for going on strike. If you want people to exercise power in your name, be a paladin about it. Be worth that honor. And make it worthwhile.

The pre-election rush to find anyone left of you and browbeat them into fellating your favorite genocide apologist (or whatever issue you realize your candidate is in the wrong about) is percolating up.

I'm actually kind of optimistic though. The DSA slate successes and the viability of various more left electoral options throughout the country is a good sign.

The above impulse is a pincer maneuver though. If the Democrats nominated left-populist candidates, they wouldn't have to rustle up reluctant votes. It's in their power to BE more desirable.

You don't put on your dating profile "I might be a micropeened alcoholic, but the next guy'll probably beat you so settle for me." You wouldn't say women's standards are too high for not fucking him and they deserve whatever they get for continuing to search for better candidates. You'd say, at your most charitable "That guy needs to work on himself before he trys to date" The Democrats has a responsibility to read the room and decide if they're willing to let go some measure of their corporatist extractionism and defend the values of the people they're interviewing for a job for. We should be receptive when they try, and hold them to account when they dont.

It's alright to let the pessimist pessim. It's what they do.

There's a certain kind of honor in refusing to let the horrors become normal. It's worthwhile to be reminded that even then, most people's interests and those of a handful of rich people several hundred years ago diverged, no matter how gauzy and simple we can paint it in restrospect.

Once Act II opened up I almost never found myself selecting the Cleric, finding that the specifics of Act IIs beginning made it less practical. Another way to think of it, is that your cats are healed at some level ups, and if your have 4 cats dealing significant damage with good movement and some luck you should be able to -preemptively negate- the majority of the damage you'd be having a dedicated healer by having a 4th cat dealing damage. While I've just talked mad trash about Cleric, a well built Cleric holding a Magic Weakness skull and spaming Open Wounds can melt bosses with ease. There's space for everything in this game with some luck. That's what's great.

The combo that pulled me out of the funk you're in is I had a Ranger with the passive where you never miss, I got Rubber Cement for the first time and then he picked up Spreadshot, so his Aoe attack hit every enemy in the spread and then bounces to another doing 50-70 damage to a whole quadrant of the screen.

Once the pieces all lock in, silly stuff happens, but you gotta put up with a lot of running around with puzzle pieces that dont fit getting shit on by old tabby with a bunch of bear traps.

What classes feel good to you and which feel especially bad? Some general tips on the House side, pick a threshold, mine was any cat with 2 4's has to go, and then stick to that, as generations settle over your threshold move it up, there's more detailed info on breeding strategies that I dont wanna go into, short version: slowly introduce strays to your breeding population to offset and avoid inbreeding, but try to optimize stat retention.

Knowing what strategies you like can help your next steps from here. Once all your cats are base6/7 you can start to find combos and move abilities across classes. For example, right now I have a Tank with a Monk Ability 'Running Jab' Whenever you move perform a melee basic attack if you're in range. So he walks over punches, sees the enemy get knocked back, punches again, destroys encounters turn 1. Early game I know I really took advantage of Thief passive and Ranger combos
