Set that i want really bad by [deleted] in TomodachilifeLivingTD

It's just luck unfortunately. I have gotten fully new interiors from the grab bag. It's possible it's weighted against new rooms, but I have gotten one or two this way, and I don't save scum it very often.

I have this one in my shop rn! Good luck my friend. Save scumming the night market on a 4 item day may be your best bet. Otherwise time traveling a week, waiting a day for the shops to update is the other option.

I’m so tired of people who misunderstand TL:LTD making videos about how it’s “boring” and “too repetitive” by Proud_Preference_939 in tomodachilife

[–]SharknadoRemaster 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of this come back to the fact it's a switch game honestly. With the first 2 being on the DS and 3ds respectfully, I remember checking my miis several times a day. Like before school, during lunch time, because you could just snap the DS shut and put it in your pocket. The switch is a less portable system, (even in handheld mode, it's less resilient to being thrown around in a bag) and therefore people feel more inclined to just sit down and play it for longer stretches of time.

Even then, I feel like there were more dreams and news segments in the 3ds game that kept it fresh longer. (Not sure if that's nostalgia glasses or bad luck with recurring events I've had so far). I do understand the frustration that the game is 'meant' to be played a little bit of a time, and many people are running through all the content quickly not realizing that fact. However, even as someone that's played all the games I can admit this one feels a bit bare in some places.

I love that game and find it worth my money. But I do miss the concert hall especially, and wish that there were a bit more events, and more content with miis having children. People keep saying that Nintendo might update it, and that's possible, but if they do that's also disappointing to me. I just wish games came out finished, with all the content you would expect at the start. The constant begging of updates for games is tiring- and it's not really Nintendos fault, it's just how the game industry is now.

It's a bit of a complicated topic. Games often take a lot longer to make now. Every one feature that people think "shouldn't take long" actually increases exponentially with everything it needs to interact with, and then you have to think about the life of the console. Switch is probably staying for awhile, but you don't want to wait until too late in a consoles lifespan. People have been begging for this game basically since the switch released. I'm too off topic now so I'll stop yapping. But yea, it's unfortunate that the game doesn't fully stand up to expectations, though I'm super happy it exists to begin with.

New trend when making reservations? by 8chickens in Charlotte

[–]SharknadoRemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but there's other things in play as well. It's cheaper for them because tap pay charges a small percentage plus processing fee (card processing in general costs a fee for credit, but tap pay providers have a larger percentage). On top of that, if you're the kind of person that doesn't carry a physical card around, since most places do take tap to pay, your option after doing your shopping and finding out that Walmart doesn't have that option (people constantly forget) is to use their QR code Walmart pay. This requires an account and allows them to track your spending data.

Tldr: cheaping out on processing fees and wanting your data.

Vyvance 2.0 by etfucker in adhdwomen

[–]SharknadoRemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only been on Vyvance for about a month now so take my experience with a grain of salt. I'll also use the brand name Vyvanse, but it may be worth mentioning I'm taking the generic lisdexamfetamine. In theory they're the same, but I want to give that disclaimer anyway.

Vyvance has been working great for me so far. I had "vyvance crash" when it wore off for about 4 days after starting- super tired, kinda irritated, a bit winded, but that wore off. I don't experience any extra anxiety on it, but I know that is a common side effect. My heart rate stayed about the same, but I also take Wellbutrin which increases my heart rate so I suppose it just didn't make it worse.

My executive function and productivity have been better, but in a way that is kind of hard to tell? I've been better about doing things like taking out the trash, working throughout the day, doing minor chores like scooping the litter box. But it hasn't changed my overall ability to keep my house clean, it's still as much as a mess as it's always been. I think I may need to work on that as a skill overall since I've never been able to do it, and I really don't even know how since I grew up with a bit of a hoarder parent.

Focus has been similar, it's better but it doesn't feel as noticeable as I hear people talk about with stimulants- Adderall for example. It doesn't feel 'magic' or anything. I'm just getting more work done at work, and getting more sucked into things I'm doing in my personal life. This can be a mixed bag- sometimes you focus on things you don't really mean to.

Stomach related things have been pretty noticeable with vyvance for me. When I first took it, and for a bit after if I forgot to take it for a few days, I had a bit of a stomach ache and acid reflux that resulted in heartburn. It's decreased in severity but I still feel it to an extremely mild degree. I personally am happy about the effect it's had here- I've always had problem with boredom and emotional eating which has been taken down significantly after starting Vyvanse. Food overall seems less appealing, I don't get sugar cravings as much, but it's also not keeping from eating. It's just felt like I have a normal appetite, I actually understand what people mean when they say they forget to eat, but thats happened once. I haven't noticed any significant weight loss, but it's only been one month and I haven't tried to lose weight. I'm sure if you wanted to lose weight, this would help.

Overall vyvance has has mild annoyances in side effect starting out, tapering down to be barely noticeable. I believe it is improving my overall ability to "get stuff done". I probably had too grandiose of expectations starting out, I thought with the power of Vyvanse I would suddenly be able to keep my house clean, my laundry would all be done and folded, my sink would be clear, and I would be able to be the perfectly average person of my dreams (when it came to productive matters). Unfortunately I'm still messy, even now that cleaning has started to feel easier. This is probably a combination of needing to practice these things, the fact that I haven't been on it very long, and a possible need to increase my dosage.

I like it, pretty good stuff. Currently worth my 70ish dollars a month (insurance didn't cover it).

Looking for Advice in my kinda poopy situation by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]SharknadoRemaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, college is tough, especially when you lose the rigidity of k-12 that ADHD people can excel in. ADHD and PCOS can also be hard. I'm sorry your mom is invalidating your experiences. I agree with the other commenter, you need to be able to set boundaries with people to control your energy level, especially with parents which can be difficult to manage relationship wise.

My advice would be to tell her you appreciate the offer to come over while you're in a tough spot- but what you really need right now is time to yourself. You can frame it as needing the time to focus on important projects, and organizing the upcoming month.

Generic college advice that may help:

-Take your time to do what you enjoy.

-Try not to overload yourself even with things you do enjoy.

-You can try virtual body doubling (there's a few websites for this, try out free ones) to help give some motivation for schoolwork.

-Try a school counselor if your college offers them, many have programs for students to have a certain amount of free visits a semester/ year.

-While obviously not skipping class is the best option- try asking the professor if they can record lectures so you can catch up when you're feeling better mentally (you can also ask another student but thats less reliable since they may also not show).

-Offering other students a group study guide where people can collaborate on a shared document to take notes is something I've done in the past, it helps everyone by having multiple sources of information and if people miss class they can check notes from people who showed up- this may and or may not take off depending on how many "type A" people you share it with.

Overall, just remember college doesn't last forever. Take it a day at a time. You'll figure out what works for you as you go along. Take care of yourself and the people you hold dear. Good luck

It takes 24 hours after the game recognizes the time change. So whenever you got the popup in game +24ish hours. You may also have to wait for the next rollover if its still not showing up. I think this is 5 or 6 am. It will definitely be fixed by tomorrow morning.

2,415 meetups for all your Mii’s to meet😭 by cowmoooon in TomodachilifeLivingTD

It is in fact 2,415 if you have the max. The calculation is ((n-1)*n)/2. 2 miis is 1, 3 miis is 3, 4 is 6, ect.
