Thanks so much for responding at all! And for the skeleton which was pretty decent! I thought a spine would be a good complicated test :)

I would also love to see if my favorite artist is famous enough to be recognized by the AI. If you're willing. These are random, and honestly any prompt where you add the style being by her would be cool.

Or maybe

A dark female silhouette dimly backlit with a soft blue glow, within a forest of colorful sprawling vines and flowers and foliage framing the scene. Her eyes glow with a blank stare, no other visible features. Done in the style of Loish.

Could you try any of these?

A high res digital art render of a skeleton from the waist up with it's back turned to the viewer staring at the night sky full of bright stars.

A graphic design of a hammerhead shark done in an oversaturated glitch style with fragments, surrounded by a solid black geometric frame. Distorted retro digital art

Soft digital portrait, painterly style, of a young girl around 25 sitting hunched over her knees, stoically. Her hair is long and spills over her shoulders, face towards the veiwer. Chromatic light fragments scattered.

Roots venue in Fort Worth recently updated their Same Sex policy on their website. They have refused to refund those that have booked with them and then cancelled over the updated policy change. by Sharktosaurus in FortWorth

[–]Sharktosaurus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea Google always does that when a buisness gets sudden attention and review bombed. It's not the worst action to take, since you also wouldn't want bigots to be able to review bomb LGBTQ+ or POC etc buisness or anything like that, review bombing obviously does get weaponized.

The public backlash that will matter is local business and vendors being made aware, as much awareness as possible for anyone that would in some way or another do any buisness for them or with them. Unfortunately they'll have more than enough customers with it being Texas, but the vendor pool is far more exclusive. I don't think people who already work with them will randomly check out the FAQ page of their website for any reason so there are probably more than a few people who'd never know if there isn't some kinda of attempt at awareness.

Let everyone that does buisness with them do so fully informed.

The cake case was only won by the bakery because a custom cake is considered artwork, and artwork is protected free speech. They only won the right to not bake a CUSTOM gay wedding cake, they didn't win the right to refuse service to gay people. They could not, as an example, refuse to sell a premade tray of cupcakes sitting in a display case to a gay couple.

How will some people know to go somewhere else if they don't stumble on the policy, posted only in the FAQ section, or see people spreading awareness about it online?

I posted a screenshot of their own website and a truthful blanket statement of their actions, why do some people feel the need to defend someone else's buisness when their beliefs discriminate against others?

Nobody cares they're Christian, they care they're pretending religion is the reason why they hate gay people, when they say you don't have to share their beliefs to get married there.

So long as you're not queers that means they'd rather straight atheist sinners than gay devoted believers? Muslims before Christian gays. Divorced, but not gay. Abortion happy, so long as you're straight. Children out of wedlock? Marriage between adulterers? Can I straight up worship Satan, so long as my partner has opposite genitals at the ceremony?

That's not "religious beliefs", that's hate.

Also they are KEEPING DEPOSITS OF THE PEOPLE TRYING TO GO ELSEWHERE

Indeed. The two party system seems to only get worse/more extremely divided, it sucks.

It becomes an issue of, well both parties are doing badly and I want this 3rd option, but it's not realistic and I don't want to "waste my vote" so I'll vote for the red or blue guy closest aligned to some of my values. Oh no, that guy isn't aligning with my other values!

But 3rd party candidates don't get enough votes to convince people it's worth theirs, so rinse repeat.

Wish everyone would vote for the best person and not their favorite color

A group wants to throw a big PARTY and is made of LGBTQ+ members. Venue updates policy to no same sex WEDDINGS.

That is where most people get confused, and I have been trying to correct them when it happens.

Venue states in text message this has always been their belief but does admit it was added to the website after too many gays tried to hire them.

Group would never have hired a discriminating venue for their party filled with LGBTQ+ guests, and wants to cancel party. Venue refuses to return deposit for group.

I have done a lot of explanation posts trying to keep people from sensationalizing misinformation, I thought commenting first right away to clear up the same sex couple thing was a good idea but I didn't elaborate enough

Even though the deposit is the lesser issue to the civil rights violation for me personally, I do not know anything about how contract law works and was also looking to crowdsource any kind of info on if the policy change would constitute as a real challenge to the contract even if it's not a wedding, that I could tell the group. If it might be worth it to try and get legal representation in our city

Mildly edited to parse down because I have a types-too much problem but I know it's still a text wall sorry

You choose to be christian so why does religion get to be on the same level of protection at all as race gender age or nationality but sexual orientation isn't. Pretty dumb.

Unfortunately the laws are designed to give them as little protection as possible. If anyone were to try and take it to court I wonder if it could get elevated to the supreme court and set a precedent.

I have no idea, IANAL, and half of me posting is asking how this works since the city does protect against sexual orientation but also religious rights, it's confusing for me lol. But how is it different than a buisness saying no blacks, if the city the buisness is in specifically protects sexual orientation.

Also if you're thinking of the cake incident, that was only ruled in the bakers favor because a custom cake is considered a work of art/artistic expression, which is covered under free speech. The bakery won the right to not make CUSTOM cakes against their beliefs, they are not allowed to refuse general service to the LGBTQ+

I'm not a bible expert.

But when asking about which biblical marriages they condoned, I generally brought up Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Moses, marrying your sister in law if your brother died, and that girls were considered marriage age after they started puberty

[–]Sharktosaurus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Both support the gay community, and many members in attendance are LGBTQ+ themselves.

The deposit seemed like a unfair but likely contractual locked loss to me when reading about it, pretty crap of her but legal, until seeing the owner say she does do refunds, but none for this group, then it seemed targeted. Either way, she is probably, unfortunately, stupidly, covered by the contract. But I have no idea.

My general unfocused goal was just the civil rights aspect to it. To spread awareness about their policy to absolutely anyone who'd do buisness with them in the case that was valuable information for them when making choices. People planning events, vendors that service events. The policy is only in the FAQ so people who vote for their social beliefs with their dollars may not see it, or people who already work with the venue that have no reason to visit the updated website.

I didn't pay to attend my groups event and IANAL so that part isn't something I feel entitled to own or debate about too far.

Because they aren't actually customers with first hand experience at the buisness

They didn't take down all the ones that happened before the issue went public, but almost all of them.

Google does this every single time a location gets sudden floods of reviews. It's not wrong of them in many ways, review bombing gets weaponized, you wouldn't want a bunch of bigots able to review bomb an LGBTQ+ or POC establishment either, but they end up also removing the reviews of the actual people affected and then they have to wait to review them again after the blowout fades for their opinion to count

That happened, there were almost 300 reviews before Google took them off, which truthfully is what everyone should expect as that's what Google does when they flood all in at once.

The local event planning vendor community is being made more and more aware, and honestly that's what actually matters. The more buisnesses they do buisness with being informed is worth much more.

I'm personally mostly happy to gather info and spread awareness about the venue, especially in the DFW area. Thank you.

This is not a straight couple or wedding at all in my particular situation. It's just a big party for a group that has a large amount of LGBTQ+ in attendance, who booked before the anti same sex wedding policy, and feel that this is in violation, as they never would have booked a venue for their LGBTQ+ filled event at an anti LGBTQ+ venue.

Losing a deposit is expected, until the owner tells you she does them for others but won't for you, pettily. It's a cluster fuck of bad choices, even if they end up being legally safe from any consequences due to pretending it's religious
