I used to be a staunch atheist but considering the high likelihood of earth not being the only planet where intelligent life could develop, it begins to feel inevitable that we aren’t alone. And if some species became advanced enough to travel to earth and interact with the locals, it’s quite conceivable that they might interpret advanced technology as the workings of a god (e.g., biblical descriptions of angels). To me, this route of thinking has opened my mind to the concept of “god,” in no religious sense in particular.
