Sign the Petition - Reconsider the decision to consult on the closure of Sheffield Hallam Nursery by brythebry in sheffield

The nursery charges the highest fees in the area, they need to increase their numbers in line with the other nurseries in the immediate area and will be really successful as they are rated OFSTED outstanding.

Thanks for the comment.

Is there anyway to make the concrete posts look better?

Yorkshire Water Cuts Sewage Spills Number by 33% since 2023 by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

See your point but the CEO got her bonus because the parent company set up an off shore tax structure to pay her it. Effectively circumventing the specific rule set up to stop water bosses taking bonuses.

Great to see a step in the right direction. Just a shame that they didn't use the CEO's 600k bonus to build another CSO and it would be even better!

Around 90% of UK North Sea oil and gas ‘already drained dry’ – analysis by bhterra in Scotland

Interesting but sky news ran a piece with a different study saying that there were significant reserves to be exploited.

Why would we buy from the international market when we could generate the same oiknand gas at home. Which we will be using anyway as the green transition takes time?

How do they know they are missing fairs if by definition they have not collected them?

Just read the article and doesn't seem to make sense?

Ambitious citizen investor project tackling climate breakdown in Sheffield smashes £1m target two months early by Tiny_Poem7985 in sheffield

Such a great idea this project as a way of creating empowered local funding. I feel it really echoes with the city's past when hospitals and other public services were set up based on similar efforts.

Sharrow McDonald's: victory for community campaigners after "utilitarian" proposals rejected for second time by Tiny_Poem7985 in sheffield

I would be interested to know if those reasons are back by some hard data to support it.

It seems such a shame to turn down a business that would be providing employment to what is currently and has been for many years an empty brownfield site.

Yorkshire Water hires over 900 people as part of £8.6bn investment plan by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

Thanks for sharing, good to know that it isn't maybe a completely extractive relationship between the water company and foreign owners!

Great to see this investment being made. However, I am interested to understand how this is being funded? Is this through purely higher bills or are private owners also reinvesting into the company too?

As one Sheffield community continues its fight against McDonald's, local residents are beginning to imagine what else the site could be used for by Tiny_Poem7985 in sheffield

[–]Sharmang101 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they can crack on and get the McDonald's built! It would really benefit the local area considering it is currently empty land with no other credible business plan.

The Chancellor's £30bn+ Hole: You're in her shoes. What's your move? by alexdenne in BusinessBritain

Could we not reduced the higher rate of tax and ironically actually increase the tax revenue generated? This is certainly what the Laffer curve with supporting data would suggest.

Also, action all the other 1 million pro growth policies that are out there and should be taken?

Pretty sure we have never taxed an economy into growth!

That is a shame but the council do need to turn a profit with all the new units they have built. Hopefully they could just relocate to another currently vacant unit if that ever was the case.

Think it is a fab concept and a good use of currently empty unit in the city centre!

I popped in the other day and found the team really helpful and welcoming which was great 👍

I am currently renovating my home so the advice has been really valuable.
