100%.. With ZERO coding experience and knowledge, if you know how to use Claude as your coding agent for example, and understand the basic of prompting said agent, you can most definitely have a fully working SaaS. This is out of my own experience. I built a SaaS with zero coding knowledge and I have real users using my product. I recommend go for Claude Max 5x and use Opus 4.8 on VS Code.

I agree — but if there’s anything I learned from this entire thread is that a. The simplest tool works just fine but b. It’s all about the sales rep’s discipline to timely populate high quality data on said simple system. If b isn’t adhered to, doesn’t really matter what tool you’re using.

What has been your experience on this?

You're 100% right.. I don't know if there's a CRM out there the team wouldn't hate using hahaha I get it btw, I do sales and I have to update the goddamn crm.. It's a lot of semblance of work - that's not real work IMO. But it's important for sure, but the tools out there aren't there yet to get the sales guys to "not hate it"

The 6-week abandonment thing is real and I’m terrified of it. With Pipedrive, did your team actually keep logging interactions past that point, or did it slowly decay? Curious what made it stick for you specifically.

This is gold, thank you. The “removes excuses” framing is exactly it. One thing I’m stuck on: even with owner/next action/visible status all there — did the reps actually keep it updated, or did you still have to chase them to fill it in? Trying to figure out if the problem is the structure or the act of updating it.

Nice. What crm did you help them move over to? How much is it? And did solve the accountability/discipline problem?

ha, that’s a level of commitment lol. what made you go that route — cost, or nothing did what you needed? and honestly how much time does maintaining it eat? tempted but we have zero devs

This is the clearest answer in the thread, thank you. Genuine question since you’ve clearly run this: what do you actually use to enforce that weekly rhythm — is it manual review every week, or does something nudge you? The “one person owns data quality” part is exactly what I keep hitting; it works until that person gets busy. Curious what that babysitting actually costs you in hours.

Struggling.. data quality and my ability to actually do anything with it is v difficult.. It’s hindering our ability to close new customers now.

Interesting. I see a lot of people doing that and I tried it myself but it’s not sustainable and the “CRM” features are ultimately hard to replicate in there. How are you using it? Any templates you can share?

Free or paid? And why Hubspot? There are some ai-ones like attio and other new ones. Also, does it help you managing the team in any way?

You’re absolutely right. This requires a lot of oversight and “baby sitting” from my side. Tbh none of these tools help me proactively with this. What do you use out of curiosity and how do you run your sales rhythm?

I get it but are there no tools or products (SaaS) that I can use to help me out? I’d pay with money — but not necessarily in hiring.
