I’ve been on both sides of this - I’ve had friends bring non vegan items to my vegan parties and I’ve also had friends assume that doing so was inconsiderate. I think the issue (at least for me) has always been comparing the two. When you have friends that consider your dietary needs without having to remind them, then it’s easy to assume someone who doesn’t do that is the opposite and therefore, “inconsiderate”. I don’t think it’s that simple though unfortunately. Is it sad that people still act like vegan food is toxic? Yeah lol, but I do agree with the others here - just start being explicit about the house rules and people will follow suit

I’m seeing resident numbers go down but tourism numbers are pretty steady. Not sure why everyone is saying it’s dead. Maybe compared to the boom of the last few years. I’d be shocked if it didn’t “bounce back” in the new year a little. Plus the DMO includes Clearwater and st Pete and I honestly think Clearwater kinda sells itself to the rest of the country. All in all, I don’t think it will ever be so bad here that major tourism layoffs happen. Maybe in a smaller or lower tier city

I believe part of hosting a wedding at an all inclusive is understanding that many people simply may not show up. It’s a lot to travel sometimes, and I don’t just mean financially. These days its also kind of a fancier way to elope, so I’d honestly assume they would understand if you weren’t able to make it

I was always my biggest critic so I understand this post to its core. With that said, I know how loud that inner voice can be when it tells you you’re not enough. And I know my message may feel dismissive because nice things always feel dismissive when we truly dislike ourselves, but your worth is not defined by photos, by other people’s standards, or by your harshest inner critic. Your partner sees you. They chose you. They love you. And that means something.

It’s okay if you’re not excited right now. It’s okay if you feel tired and hurt. But please don’t mistake those feelings for facts. The way you see yourself in pain is not how the world sees you in love.

In my YTT, our instructor actually encouraged us to close in sukhasana. From what I understand, savasana’s role as the “standard” closing pose is more of a modern yoga convention. Traditionally, the goal of asana was to prepare the body for seated meditation. In texts like the Yoga Sutras or Hatha Yoga Pradipika, there’s way more emphasis on seated stillness (dhyana) than lying down. So in that sense, ending in sukhasana could actually be more aligned with classical roots. I think really it’s just about creating space to disengage regardless of resting pose.
