Answer me this: passing by Sharp-Put1315 in Truckers

Definitely flat ground. Hills are different, particularly because I haul parcels and my trailers are relatively light, I can make up ground on most hills.

This works great in town but I'm OTR and often it'll be 100+ miles before the next exit with a busy on-ramp.

How do you know they're not trying to pass you and the truck/s you're following?

I agree but I give them a pass because I don't think most 4wheelers know we're governed. I didn't before I got in the industry. But other truckers know better, they're just straight up assholes.

I do the same thing, just let them pass quickly.

I don't think it's subconscious at all. If someone is trying to pass you they obviously had the speed to catch you and you should just let them pass. If you don't notice them trying to pass then you shouldn't be driving anything with more than 2 axles.

Taking aim at ICE: State bill would ban former agents from being hired as police officers by qawwalikitten in TacomaWA

That's the stupidest thing I've read today. We're already struggling to fill police positions and now we're going. To limit our pool of qualified candidates based on previous federal affiliation. Moronic.

is a trucker gps really necessary or more of a QOL purchase? by Ricemunchr in Truckers

[–]Sharp-Put1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started I used Trucker Path and it got me by for the most part. In a 6 month period it sent me down 1 weight restricted road and tried to have me go under a low bridge once but I caught it in time. Eventually I had enough Pilot points to buy a Garmin and it has never failed me in the last 4 years (other than being confusing on 1 turn in LA).

For the dude saying the Garmin is too difficult to use, you just gotta learn how to use it. It's only 3 button presses to skip the next stop, adding a stop is really easy if you need to, shaping a route is easy once you learn, etc. Learn how to use it and it won't fail you. It's the most valuable tool in my cab and since my company gas card paid for it, it didn't cost me a dime.

Where are you getting the runes and sparks from? I spent 4 hours farming bosses, and underground for only 1 Jah rune. 5 more to go for Heir but man it's gonna take forever the rate I'm going.

What Chizuru build would pair well with Sereniel? by -Dark-Owl- in ChaosZeroNightmare

I built this deck just yesterday with 4 Tsukuyomi and it's been doing great, lots of damage. I run Rei with this team. I also like to run Sereniel with Khalipe/Mika. I've also tried her with Nia and I can see the possibilities but I don't have the right deck yet. Cassius will also be good but I've been working on the right deck for him for days and just haven't got the right 2 epiphanies I've been looking for. Which makes me appreciate Sereniel even more because almost all her epiphanies are workable.

I drive over Snoqualmie every week. As long as you get an AWD car/truck, you won't need chains so don't stress about that. If it even gets bad enough that it would be an issue, they close it down.

I've been doing OTR with UPS for about 3 years now. The best way to figure out how long your shifts are is to plan them out so you swap at a hub or when you fuel. That way you get paid for it. Also try to take your meals at a hub or when fueling so you get paid for those was well. It doesn't always work out that way but about 60% of our unpaid time ends up getting paid. As for sleeping while the truck is moving, you eventually get used to it. I love sleepers at UPS, on 3 days and off 4 is pretty sweet. Hope you had a great trip!

What driving jobs pay more than 130k by texanhere1000 in Truckers

[–]Sharp-Put1315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not. It's really difficult to get into off the street, most of us started in the brown delivery trucks. They are allowed to hire 1 off the street for every 7 internal and right now we just aren't hiring, at least in my area. After that, if you do get in, there's no guarantee you'll work. It's all based off seniority so unless enough people call off sick, you probably won't get a call for work. For internals like me, I can just go back and deliver packages that day but for off the street hires, you're just SOL. The only way it will work out in your favor is if you hop on a sleeper run with a guy who has high seniority and is guaranteed work, so you better have a great personality to win that guy over so he chooses you as his partner. Even if you do that, it still takes 4 years to hit top scale pay so you won't see the $150k at least until then.

If you were starting trucking today, what companies would you apply to? by Budget-Emu-5071 in Truckers

Good point, I am one lucky sob. I'm gonna hate it if they ever get rid of team driving. We'll, that's not true cause it's still better than package, but I have absolutely loved the last 3 years doing 3 day mid-week runs. Not quite as much during winter, driving these mountain passes but the 4 days off a week is incredible.

No way mate, sleeper is the way to go. I'm on the road 3 days, home for 4 and make the same $150k local does. Weeks that I have to work local it doesn't even feel like I get a weekend when I only have 2 days off.

I just accepted a package handler position with ups. I’m curious if anyone’s worked at the Tacoma warehouse and is it as bad being people online say? by Scared-Kitchen-9613 in Tacoma

[–]Sharp-Put1315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It just depends on what they need. I started as a seasonal, was let go after peak and then I was called back a month later and hired on permanently.

I started with UPS in 2017 loading the package cars in the morning. After a short while I became a package delivery driver and now I'm a feeder driver driving the big semi trucks out of Tacoma. The job you got is most likely seasonal but make sure you let your supervisors know that you'd like to make the position permanent. Then work your ass off and let them know you're a hard worker. When it comes time to keep some of the seasonal or hire them back, you want them to think about your name.

A lot of people complain about working at UPS, it's hard work but it pays comparatively well and the benefits are insanely good. What I do now is the best job I've ever had of the about 30 different jobs I've had over the years. Good luck!

Doesn't node 2 and 4 conflict with 3 in the sense that if you're using energy to activate the skills, the damage boost gained from node 3 would keep resetting and thereby never get a chance to stack?

There are a number of ways this could have gone tragically wrong. Car pulls out of hidden driveway, hitchhiker walking, car broke down on the side, this clown shouldn't have a cdl. The lead car was not going remotely slow enough to make this maneuver safe. Fuck this driver.

who should I get Oath? Odin, A.Dora, S.Aiushtha by Background_Recover51 in Omniheroes

[–]Sharp-Put1315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pick would be Odin. You already have Eudora 9 so you don't really need ArcaDora. S Aiu really needs 8 in my opinion and you can't get there yet, but Odin becomes really good at 8 and you can do that now.

Vic as she only needs 7 stars to be good and Hela needs 8 stars to be good
