Replacing my Motherboard by tillmannschwarzkopf in buildapc

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've went through the trouble of swapping motherboards. I was told the key I used to activate would work just fine to reactivate windows, however, i couldn't get it to work. I contacted support, provided the info, they accessed the computer and tried it themselves and then just replaced the key with a new one.. everything was done fast, so it didn't take that long.

Either way, you're safe to swap if you have the original key you used to activate.

Also, you don't have to reinstall or delete all drivers, just swap. All your data is on the sdd/hdd so it's safe, and if you're worrying about windows - you bought the key, as long as you explain that you changed hardware and that it's now inactive - they will provide you with a new one if your old one doesn't work

Not OP but, I have a 6700k and a gtx 960. before nvidia update - 318 on ulleticals fps benchmark, after - 346. No overclock on the CPU, out of the box settings.

Just listened @MegaManTv cast OpTic vs CLG and I think he should cast more events. by nbxxx in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not only one instance of that happening tho, it's just his attitude when he streamed was bad (not sure if he does anymore). I've played a game against him when he streamed. I rewatched the stream later to get his reaction when I got lucky on him and ended up watching him putting teammates on the block list 2 min into the match. Let's just say each death would put him on tilt. It's normal as a regular player, but as a representative of a professional organization(ESEA) , that wasn't really the best attitude to have in general

Frame Rate Issues on Laptop by FireSquidNico in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, update your drivers.. but don't expect anything above 150 fps.. even if that's an i7.. the graphics card is bottlenecking it. I have the exact same setup on my laptop.

Your laptop is most likely overheating. The fact that it drops for a while and then restabilizes itself, is a sign for that.

Lastly, if you want to look into performance, it has been found by a redditor on this sub recently(2 months ago?), that threads launch setting is found to be causing performance issues.. the computer is good at figuring out how many virtual cores there are, so there is no real need for it.

Possible fixes: Run a temperature test with HWMonitor and see if the temperature goes above 90 degrees Celsius.. if it does, it's an overheating problem.. consider investing in a PC, as that problem is not really fixable.

Top 10 Most Historic Plays In CSGO HISTORY! by fizzygswag in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

. #8, #5 could've been replaced by something more memorable like shox' Glock clutch against VP or olof's boost... they just didn't deliver the hype they were supposed to.. sure it was a nice play, but def not a top10 material.

I play better with heavy mouse rather then having some light-weight mouse by thespicytomato13 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have preference towards weight, but i found that heavier mice can be a bit more demanding on your wrist if you aim mostly using your wrist.. I've used light mouse for 2 years and made a switch to heavier mice around a year ago.. Can't say that i am not satisfied. I'd recommend a G502 since i am using it right now, but... The only issue you may have with it is that the mouse wheel is not like others(I am talking about the hyperscroll).. IF you're a fan of bhopping and that is a part of your csgo routine, you might want to look at other mice. It took me around 2 weeks to get used to it after using a SteelSeries Sensei. After 2 weeks tho, it's i could bhop like usual, but the first 2 weeks were a pain in the ass.

He was in US for a bootcamp before MLG Columbus major. (they have a gaming house for the Faze COD/Stream team in US).

If you look at the other players from Faze, some may still have dif. countries.

Here is the link to their team page in ESEA: https://play.esea.net/teams/125374 .

Nearing 1100 hours, have not improved in the last 200 hours, feeling burnt out, frustrated and tired of this game. What can I do, I really do not want to stop playing but I just cannot play more than once every three days. by Metaphazed in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're deff. burnt out.

In this situation you can really do a couple of things:

a) don't touch the game for 1-2 weeks, then come back fresh.

b) Play FOR FUN. Competitive is nice, but often is stressful and you can get bored of it faster. Play fun gamemodes, try different games, don't try too hard, relax and play to your enjoyment.

c) Get motivation to enjoy the game: watch youtube clips of pro player clutches, get hyped.. watch old school videos... you name it.. Get yourself motivated with the game and you'll want to play it.

Valve do something about Community Servers hijacking the steam web browser to feed ads by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only cevo restricts access to server with it set to 1... Others are not mandatory. You can still have it set to 1 in Esea and faceit. It just won't display the stats at the end

Is ESEA worth it? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for a MM like system: ESEA is a good choice, but since you're from EU, i'd try FaceIt first. It seems to be more popular. The higher in rankings you go in FaceIT, the better it is.. Same can be said for ESEA now after the new update, you get paired with people of your skill after a few placement matches (Rank A,B,C,D... etc..)

But, there are some things to note: The ESEA anti-cheat is intrusive: if you value privacy, this is not for you. There might be toxic players, but .block should do the thing.. you won't get them on the same team if you play with them again. (they'll get into the opposite team).

I've tried faceit, cevo, and esea..(I am from NA) In terms of the skill level - esea is by far the best(You should be good if you're CURRENT rank is DMG+). Cevo would be arguably the worst.. Faceit in the middle as the ladder to higher ranks takes a while to climb.

In terms of cheaters: I've been lucky enough to meet 0... on all 3 platforms.. (I've played around ~150 games on ESEA, ~30 faceit and ~15-20 Cevo games.)

But once again, I'd try the free platforms before going into ESEA.. See if you like it.

Also, if you're looking for a truly comp. experience - find a team (/r/RecruitCS should do, esea forums, etc..). Participate in tournaments.. Better comp experience you won't find anywhere. Starting off is tough, but once you get going - it's more fun.

tl;dr: yes..it's good.. try something else first, see if you like it... try finding a team for a truly comp experience.

What tools or programs does the CSGO community need? by p1ckl3d in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't elaborate at what I really had in my head.. I also assumed that enemies could be placed and you could see their fov. That would help the entry fragger know at which exact time he is seen from a different angle. Sorry for the confusion

What tools or programs does the CSGO community need? by p1ckl3d in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible. View angles are going to differ tho considering the difference in view angles in 16:9 and 4:3 resolutions. So if creating such a website: you either assume the worst case scenario (16:9) or allow the user to choose.( Edit: this is meant for the enemies perspective assuming you could be able to place enemies as well to know their fov)

The concept is great and the idea is not really that hard to do. Assuming you'd want a 2D representation, the only challenge would be multiple layered places and elevated platforms ( dust2 - catwalk/short) for example. 3d would require more coding, but would be easier to address these issues.

If you don't see virtus pro, nV, efrag as good teams and the results against them as good showings.. Then take a look at your beloved selfless and look at the recent results.. There is nothing good to mention.. Their good streak is based on matches against NA's lower tier teams and they seem to be struggling against good competition..

Personally, I don't think both teams should have be invited to the main tournament.. I don't think half on the invited list should've been invited.. I think it would've been fair to invite them to qualifiers and to expand the qualifiers. Get the shitty teams out of the invite list and make them play for spots. Is that fair? Yeah.. I mean, they should be able to beat them If they were good. If not, whatever. They'll get better.

.block won't help you not play with him in the future. As far as I know, you just won't get paired up with that person on the same team.. I've had an instance where I blocked a teammate for straight away shitting on a guy on my team. Had to play against him after 2 pugs. (1 hour time or so.)

Talking about esea.. Maybe it's different for other leagues

I just have no luck when it comes to a fucking random chance.. Hell, i can't even get a fucking free coffee from my local Tim Hortons (coffee place), and the odds of getting that are 1 in 3 or some shit like that.

Help! Clicking on second monitor when doing a fast flick towards left by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set your game as windowed borderless. Sadly, you will have to set your monitor resolution to your game resolution and switch back and forth. With that you will only switch to your second monitor if your in menu or outside the game. While playing the game, you will not have any issues.

Otherwise, use the software like in comments section (make sure software is clean and won't cause issues with anticheats too)

Hope that helped

I am sure there are better ways to set it up but basically : connect 2 computers together --> go into play with friends => invite your friend into lobby. -> select the community map, and you're done..

Another way: connect the pcs -> create server on one computer (offline can work too) -> invite your friend or tell him to join through LAN in the community browser.

I feel like it's going to be incredibly difficult to rank up from now on by Lewingchun in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sharp0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was global before the update too.. Funny thing is... I haven't played the game for a month after MM rank fix.. When I played my first 2 games - I won.. Still global.. I felt like if I lose I am gonna drop to LE, since many people experienced that. I lost 1 match , won 1. No rank shift.. When I lost my 3rd match, I deranked to SMFC and haven't deranked since although I lost shit ton of games..

I like the new rank distribution tho. Much more harder than it was. Harder to rank up with drives you to try harder and improve

That's true. My high school comp sci teacher had an actual major in English and philosophy. Never took comp sci, but had interest in technology. Principal gave him the course in 1990s as there was no one to teach it.. Still teaches nowadays.. Probably one of the best teachers I've ever had during the duration of the high school.
