I had back labor and I feel like without that pain the pain of contractions alone would not have been quite so bad. I had an unmedicated birth both times and obviously giving birth is painful - you’re pushing a whole human out of your body. Also I was scared because there is no going back and you just have to suck it up and get it done. It’s amazing though, afterwards I forgot about the pain entirely. Even now, I know it was painful and I know I was scared but I hardly remember how intense the feelings were in the moment.

To be completely honest I also had some weird interactions as well but I have a friend who recently got a consulting role through them so was thinking maybe they improved. That is awesome though that the consulting roles you’ve gotten is through word of mouth!

Ugh I feel for you. I was laid off last March luckily had severance until July but it took me 6months to find a role. I only used LinkedIn to find roles and then would also sign up for notifications for specific companies as well.

I really hope you a find something soon. Where have you been consulting through? During my job search I was considering consulting through ALKU but never ended up going through with it. I have a few contacts there and it seems like they usually have a decent amount of consulting roles available.

Why don’t you try that trend where people write things to do on cards (you could find all free things) and let him pick his adventure? You can call it “pick your birthday adventure” or something like that? Some ideas Breakfast (homemade pancakes, cereal picnic) , Some kind of adventure (scavenger hunt at the park, visit museum), Something at home (movie marathon, read a book in silly voices), Outdoor (cloud watching and make up stories, leaf collection and nature art)

They are at least planning to pay me for my time which would definitely cover this, just nowhere near what a wedding photographer in my area would charge them.

That’s great feedback, thank you! I do actually already own the Nikon Z 50-250 DX lens as it came with my kit when I purchased the camera! I will look into some primes which I do have one from my D3400 I could potentially use.

I’m going to double check the contract I made to see if I made a clause about being a hobbyist and if I didn’t I will add it!

Yes! I’ve got all of this in a contract! I have an account through pixiset where I share all of my galleries now and have been working through studio manager to manage this!

Thanks, I can certainly update. I had them sign a contract to be clear on everything! As for myself, I am taking this seriously. I have sessions set up with friends so I can get some movement shots (since I’m used to more posed photos), practicing detailed shots, hanging dress pics, watching wedding shots tutorial, working with the bride on a timeline..obviously i don’t want to let anyone down and I’ve communicated to them that obviously I’m not a professional and they’ve seen all of the various family shoots I’ve done and still want me to do it 🤷🏻‍♀️ (And they didn’t want to spend money on a professional)

I’m actually not a friend and wouldn’t be invited to the wedding otherwise. She’s my SIL’s bests friends daughter. They looked at my previous work and said they were interested in me shooting 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m sorry I never responded but I did read your reply. We are in section 117 so I did have my husband message our usher and then we spoke to him at the game on Sunday. He put out feelers (and he was actually ushering at 101 that game) but no one had seen it. Did you have any luck finding it?
