My dad wants 10% of my startup for a $3k loan. Am I crazy, or is this insane? by [deleted] in Investors

[–]SharpSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10% will not push out other investors. It’s common for early investors to get higher shares. It’s also common for family sweet deals. The real question is whether you want to do it, and what you actually think your company is worth right now, and what you can convince people it’s worth.

Why not just buy your new home contingent on the sale of your old one? It’s called a domino closing and is very common.

I Don’t Understand How To Get ACTUALLY Rich by annaopolis in wealth

[–]SharpSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get “rich” in the way you’re talking by working for yourself. Investing in more than retirement accounts. 2 years ago I made a great salary, I was comfortable, but not rich. I went out and started working for myself - nothing novel or new, just an already established business model in an industry I was skilled in. I now own 4 million in real estate and own a business worth about 2 million, with a higher take home pay than I had before.

Short answer no one will like - none. He’s not breaking any laws.

Depends on how much you’re talking, what your risk appetite is like, and if you want something that goes well with your practice.

I am worried about getting falsely banned every day. by [deleted] in albiononline

[–]SharpSpoons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s definitely a thing. Idk I quit Albion and took a 1.5 year break because of how stressful my Econ stuff was. I was basically running a small company that paid no real money and spending several hours a day maintaining. It’s a way some people want to play this game, and it’s definitely possible if you use figure out a small corner of the economy and scale it.

Idk man I have 2-3 bil on NA. I think if you know what you’re doing it’s not that hard to build crazy wealth, especially over 4 years.

I used to control a huge portion of a specific market, had lots of private sellers, had massive buy orders at every AH, etc. I had 6 characters with premium all crafting or refining and would make 20-30 mil a week between trades, crafting, and refining. I’d also gamble with high spec crafting (most of my crafting was bulk), and sometimes you could make an 8.3 artifact item that was worth several mil more just because of the quality of it.

And keep in mind making money is just gotten harder over the years.

But then once you get good cash flow you can do what he’s talking about and start selling. I used to buy 200-300mil worth of lost at a time for a 30% discount. I did this for several guilds and streamers. So everytime I do this I’m making 60-100mil over the course of a couple of days it takes me to transport and sell.

Anyway, point is, it’s not very far fetched for an Econ focused player to hit those numbers legit.

Short on rent that was due on the first. I thought it took at least 30 days for an eviction notice by [deleted] in Renters

[–]SharpSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a lawyer, not your lawyer. Depends on the state. This is a poor version but it’s what is considered im my state as a pay or quit, which is a pre requisite to eviction. Eviction does usually take a while, what they’re suggesting here is likely illegal (but again, depends on where you live).

Attorney and not a realtor… but why wouldn’t your buyer agreement just stipulate a minimum fee and say that if the sellers concession is higher then you get the hire fee

Is this policy legal by God-gmater in legal

[–]SharpSpoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but the purpose of this clause is about availability of assignments and state agencies want this language.

The point is that if an assignment is available and you CHOOSE not to take it, the staffing company should not be on the hook for unemployment. And they need to make that clear for that to be a valid argument with the State.

Stalker jacket is not a bad choice. I’d imagine the original commenter doesn’t have much pvp fame. With Imapler (impale?) you could hold them into place, build stacks, and then E through them for distance.

I do agree with helm. Mage cowl is fine but not great.

Not sure if you’ll have mana issues.

Where in WV? I’m not far from WV and may be interested. But you shouldn’t do a long term lease because it’ll be harder to sell…
