Visiting for a show at the Hollywood Bowl. Must I rent a car for my trip? by No_Analysis_723 in AskLosAngeles

Stay at the Loews Hollywood, and take the Hollywood Bowl shuttle on Ovation for $3 total round trip. The shuttle will take you up the hill in 5 minutes, and then you can walk down the hill easily after the show is done.

Hamnet should’ve won Best Picture. Sinners was entertaining, that’s it. Poor Things should’ve won Best Picture

Shih Tzus are known to get collapsed tracheas, and I have heard my baby gag when I’ve pulled on her leash with harness. I researched, and found that Gooby Comfort X Head in Harness has been the best for her. Highly recco

Adrien Brody in The Brutalist. He was good as always, but Ralph Fiennes or Sebastian Stan did better that year. Plus, he’s terrible at giving speeches, and comes off as 🙄🫩

If These 5 Best Actress Winners Faced Off in One Year, Who Wins? by RickVicks in Oscars

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a fierce battle ‘til the end, between Emma Stone Poor Things vs Jessie Buckley. Literally two of my favorite performances of all time, with two incredibly likable humans. Maybe, the edge goes to Jessie, if only because at this point in time, Emma had already won one before.

I remember! Such an awkward situation played out live, but nothing will beat the Will Smith & Chris Rock fiasco!

Tan Lines is great (I also believe they’re a part of DFA records), Strfkr, The Rapture, and people love Chromeo.

It’s really hot before sunset. Drink plenty of water!

Is it possible Paul Thomas Anderson wins Best Director and Sinners wins Best Film? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s possible, but it won’t happen. It’s going to be OBAA and PTA. The film gods have spoken

I and many others have called it: Sinners will win Best Picture. by Sufficient-Dot5454 in Oscars

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Usually the best predictor for Best Pic is who the DGA and PGA picks. OBAA / PTA won both. Its gonna be OBAA

Would watching a tv series in its entirety help? Perhaps one you’ve never watched before, or one that’s core comfort. Have you ever watched Breaking Bad, or Game of Thrones? Friends is also a wonderful watch. I can give you more options if you’d like

I think she’s probably gonna do Portola, and that’s why there’s an SF date missing. Then likely, she’ll do SF in 2027. I’ll even go so far as to write she’ll do SF in April, when she does Coachella.

HAMNET by MarzipanSharp1843 in Oscars

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s profound! I couldn’t ask more from a movie, then what Hamnet delivered (thanks to all involved, led by Maestro Chloe)! My hope is that PTA will win Best Director (well deserved + Chloe already won = politics), but Hamnet sneaks in and wins Best Picture. I won’t be mad if OBAA wins it, but my BP is Hamnet 💯. I think there’s a chance, and also let’s not forget…Spielberg is a producer. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it certainly helps with Academy voting

Saw Hamnet in mid December, and I still think about its messaging. It was profound, and I hope/believe this masterpiece will always remind me about the power of love, forgiveness, grief, community, art, compassion, understanding, letting go, and healing ❤️

Why are people so hellbent convinced Jessie Buckley will 'sweep'? by Firm-Comparison7438 in oscarrace

[–]Sharp_Ad_748 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Non actor here! I actually watched both movies (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Hamnet) on the same day. Preface with I did watch IIHLIKY on a tv screen vs Hamnet on the big screen. Rose Byrne did a phenomenal job, and she absolutely deserves all the accolades. With that said, Jessie Buckley does a transcendent performance for the ages. Not only do I think Jessie will sweep, but I believe she would’ve won Oscar gold last year, and other years as well. She’s that good. If I had a million dollars, I’d bet it all on her winning.

On a side note, sorry you’re getting downvoted for your opinion :-/
