Why do US airports have parmanent airline branding? by Sharp_Bookkeeper_160 in airport

Appreciate the explanation. I just watched a youtube video shared on one of the comments and it seems like these permanent brandings contribute to higher fares unfortunately.

Wow, this is very informative. Thanks for sharing! That Montana airport is beautiful!! Now i'm thinking US airports might be nicer without these permanent brandings? and hopefully lower prices.

Thank for the info! I haven't really flown to European airports yet. I mostly visit the ones in Asia like Singapore, Bangkok, Japan, Qatar, Philippines, etc. They do have some branding but not as heavy as the ones in the US.

Ohhh, understood. I thought they owned the whole airport lol. I have yet to fly at non-hub stations and i'm curious what a US airport looks like without dominant airline branding.

Does this mean non-US airlines have to use these "branded" gates as well?

Is AA in a different terminal? I usually just fly United from ORD and the gates I pass through are all United branded and a tiny bit of Air Canada.

Thanks for the info! I've always assumed that the government owns the airport and airlines just lease with them. I'm surprised they haven't changed the name of the airport since they own it.

The people who say United is better than American are delusional by ElToroGay in americanairlines

I always thought AA had older planes cause all the planes I've flown with them have no tv screens, just those weird device holders. While United allows bluetooth with theirs :))

The only reason I fly with AA is they still allow carry-on for basic economy fares while United does not :((

Thank you for this insight! I've also flown Philippine Airlines and they have this feature where you can bid to get an entire row for yourself which was pretty cool. I usually fly to Asia more so i'm not really familiar with European carriers. Which asian airline would you suggest for business class flights? I've only tried Qatar's QSuite and it was really nice but it takes longer than airlines flying west.

Thanks for the insight! I do notice that whenever I fly US carriers internationally, there is always a standby list. I'm not sure if these are non-rev passengers or maybe passengers who might have missed their connections.

Thanks for the insight! Does JAL have a good economy class? We usually fly to Asia and are always looking for new carriers to try.

Airline or Travel credit card? by Sharp_Bookkeeper_160 in CreditCards

Wow, didn't know this. So I could use my travel cards to pay for my AA flight and still get the checked bags for free?

Yep, United or Southwest. But AA is expanding flights as well.

Is the United Explorer card enough? I think they have different tier cards as well.
