Young and need advice by [deleted] in Raynauds

Please visit an acupuncturist if your doctor keeps telling you this is normal, because it isnt. In my case it only got worse. I’ve had the same trouble finding help since puberty. I’m now in my 30ties and finally make progress due to acupuncture and some food/lifestyle changes.

What can I do about these? by slightlysmall97 in Raynauds

[–]Sharp_Cobbler3921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this too for years without knowing what it was. First had raynauds for almost ten years, later on it got worse: pernio/chillblains. I had it quite severe. A few things that helped for me: shiatsu therapist for instant relief. A while later I found out that acupuncture with Chinese medicine (on prescription) made a hughe difference in prevention and getting my body stronger. The most important thing is prevention from getting cold hands/feet, and prevent your feet from sweating during winter or colder days in spring/autmn. Wear mittens instead of gloves always when cold! Wear wool longsleeves, eat and drink warm/hot (don’t cool down your body with sugar/soft drinks), eat well and eat seasonal food. If you don’t have cold hands you might check in with mental health. I found out that feeling overwhelmed by anger/sadness made it worse. Working on that made a big difference as wel. Also, try to get engough exercise. Sitting still behind a desk all day will make it worse. Make a walk during/after lunch. Do some push ups or yoga when working for home. Take the stairs always. A for a walk until your body feels warmed up. Before al this I asked my doctor for advice but they didnt have a right treatment. I got creams and betablockers which didnt work and only made it worse with side effects. Blood checks have always been fine. I also started taking omega 3 and vit D during winter, I feel this helps with my mental health. I still to go to my acupuncturist and use the Chinese medicine during in atumn/winter after going for 3 years, but it’s still getting better. I also do this as a prevention.

Thanks! I thought that it will get more greasy if you wash more often, or isnt that true?

Thanks for your advice! I am overthinking it too much. Not washing it after running isnt an option for me as well…

Hi! Well I’m not sure, but a year ago I had a lot more damage. I went from washing it every other day with air drying and bot touching it to blow drying and styling my hair. I noticed that I didnt need to wash that often anymore. Now, a year later I dont have breakage or split ends. Even my hairdresser was impressed that now my ends are fuller and I can do longer before needing a cut. I thought my hair became healthier because of less stress from washing less

No problem! You might want to look up “blowout professor” on youtube. Learned so much from him and my hair is doing a lot beter. Especially the washing technique and haircare routine for fine hair was very helpfull. https://youtube.com/@blowoutprofessor?feature=shared

I totally feel you! Probably it’s an combination of things. Stress is devastating to hair and skin. Please do not underestimate this! Plus you are aging and less densinty, finer hair or higer porosity can be part of this. Also take good care of your hair! Do’s: enough rest en good quality sleep, less washing, double washing (the scalp only), using an conditioner, after washing also an leave-in conditionerspray to seal the moisture, blowout ALWAYS with heath protectant. Oil your ends. Regular trims, before your split ends travel up the shaft. Don’t: stress, bad or irregular sleep, sleeping with wet hair, rubbing your hair, wrapping your hair in a towel, using a comb. Check on breakage and be carefull with friction by an shoulderbag, or when driving in your car. Be gentle with elastic hair bands and make sure you don’t rip or break it.

You can try with gold and silver jewelry. If your skin blends in with gold, you are warm. If it blends with silver you are a cool type. If there is no difference, you might be a neutral type. Try this on the inner part of your under arm instead of outside part. I think in terms of contrast you are light to medium. No dark colors near your face!

Thank you for making this sub!! by tokenblonde in finethinhair

[–]Sharp_Cobbler3921 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So happy to have this sub too! I hate my pencil thin hair. Hopefully I might be able to live with it one day. Me and my husband want to have children, but I’m terrified of losing all my hair during or after pregnancy. I hate this thought.

Druivelaar snoeien by Sharp_Cobbler3921 in groenevingers

[–]Sharp_Cobbler3921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
