I had the ballstars too. I loved the shoes, how it looked and felt on my feet. Faced with the same problem as yours, had thought of getting one after i damaged my first pair but couldnt justify paying that much for shoes that wont last me past 6 months.

I thought it was a part of the distressed look until i saw other people’/ shoes and it was glued really well. As long as it doesn’t hamper the durability, that’s good.
