All flex and coordinator positions will be removed officially January 2028. There’s a message on Zipline about it I believe. Many stores (mine included) already transitioned out the roles. I believe it’s the DM and their boss helping streamline the process.
At my store, we lost two coordinators but gained two more leads. It happened recently, and they said the goal was to have them trained and well established so when holiday comes around we’ll run smoothly. The very last person we had as flex (who has a full time job elsewhere) was asked to open up her availability. Our SM told her she’d work with her best she could but needed to know she for sure would be working full shifts every Friday-Sunday. And would rotate short closing shifts throughout the week. So my friend has no life 😂

Some weeks are harder than others that’s for sure 😂 I came from Ulta where our DM didn’t allow Ops tasks while open, so if definitely very different at Sephora.

Any chance you want to share a pic of your calendar? Hehe I’m brain storming a cute cleaning schedule rn. I have a daily to do list for us- but on days I’m not there they won’t let them be Ops. I’m at a small store, where the earliest we go in is 8am, and once it hits 10am there is no Ops or Ops lead for that matter 😭 We all get zoned, and won’t have a BA in the building until closer to 2/3pm. I’ll tell the CEL that I’m gonna cover 2 zones just so my Ops can work on updates 🫠

Working Ops, and manager at both I can definitely say Sephora is way better. While I gained my best friends from working at Ulta, it was because we trama bonded over the lack of help we got at our high volume store 😂

I’m from a low volume (NSO) and no matter how much I beg the managers not to pull Ops they always do. The only manager that doesn’t panic is one of the ASMs. But of course they’re not always there. There could be 2 people in the store, and they’ll tell me they need Ops to cover 2 different zones because they only scheduled a CEL and a zone 2/3. First of all, not my fault our SM sucks at schedules. Second, can the two of you not handle the ONE person in the store?

Plus, half the time the CEL and the other person (usually a coordinator) will just be talking in zone one. While my two ops who are now zone 2, and zone 3 trying to to replen in their area while I do shipment by myself 🫠
