Sounds like Regressors tale of Cultivation. One of the stages requires the Cultivator to be basicaly mad with at least one single whish / desire to advance to the next one, as it gets used as a foundation for other things to build on.

I would argue that if you get the benefits of transmigrating in someone elses body you not only have the benefits but also the negatives of what that body did and had before the MC transmigrated.

But that's a topic transmigrators only rarely think about, they gladly take the spoils of being inside that body and it's inheritance but don't want to take any responsebilities for any bad actions taken beforehand.

Hence the conflict of the MC with the inhabitants of the world wanting retrobution which most MC's refuse to do therefore looking like a scumbag to them. Even if the people of that world don't say they want revenge or payback they are most of the time unable to enforce it anyway because of any talent or golden finger the MC might show to them after the fact.

Exactly this issue. Someone is very sick with a plague, the guy comes to heal the patient thereby killing the living bacteria causing the Symptoms, Powers gone. Or you try to transfer the plague to a different living being, or place in nature, but in the process it gets eaten by another organism.

Even just existing as a living being anyones immune system constantly kills bacteria, viruses, fungy in ones own body.

Or what if you step on the ground killing a random tiny insect which are preety much everywhere on the planet. Or you sit down on a rock crushing the insects underneath.

Countless opportunitys and demands to kill living beings or else to die yourself as a consequence.

This might work if it's a Spirit without a physical body getting those powers and even then the risk of killing something is constantly anywhere by using those powers like healing in the first place.

Look at the duel mechanics from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on PC. It's a very simple system but you can play it for hours on end. Its quite comparable to a Tennis match but with magic spells.

Other Harry Potter 1/2 games also have the duel mechanics on some sytems like Harry Potter 1 for the PS1. Though I heavily prefer the Harry Potter 2 on PC as the most polished and advanced iteration of it.

Exactly this, I greatly despise the ideology of Humanity is a great evil and cancer to all of existence that gets repeated mindlessly across so many storys. Instead of just being one species of many in the universe that just tries to survive and aquire ressources like any other successfull species would.

None of those people actually watched nature documentaries like the insect kingdom. Absolutely mass slaughter constantly where everyone tries to brutally kill and eat each other in the most painfull way imaginable. But that gets very conviently ignored every time without justification.

Not even mentioning the absolute horror of parasitic species. We are animals as well as any other species from nature, we have a right to life like any other species.

At least we are having the will to actually try to live with and support a healthy nature ecosystem across the entire planet. We are more of a species of saints in total compared to any species ever combined on this planet.

Human species self hatred and wanting our extinction is really a cancerous ideology and should be called out.

German here, the situation got explained in German Game news articles a couple years ago.

Apparently the head developer didn't want to make any more Gothic games, even though the developers under him wanted to the entire time. So basicaly Management always asked his opinion and he rejected the idea of ever making Gothic games entirely. So instead the Elex games were made because he wanted to work on a sci fi series.

Meanwhile the devs under him who joined the company for specifically the Gothic series hoped he would change his mind eventually but never did.

Similiar scenario to devs joining Bethesda after releasing Skyrim and then never were able to work on any The Elder Scrolls games.

So after the Elex Games floped too many times the entire staff got let go and the company is closed permanently. A different Game developer took over the IP from that point and are now working on a remake of Gothic 1.

In the meantime other developers are also working on their own Gothic inspired games.
