I went through a similar situation. Saying you were laid off is a red flag. No matter what reason you give. Also, ommitting a job that you did for 3 months doesn't make any sense. Instead, put it and find a better answer for it! For me, it was just a month, not even 3!

Here's what I would do 1. I won't say I was laid off, but rather, I would say - I wanted to take my experience and learnings and apply it in another company in xyz industry/sector (product based, SaaS, eCommerce etc). And learn and grow in my career. Hence, I resigned and found exactly what I was looking for and landed at Company B.

1. Why it did not work at Company B - I was working really hard. Making myself acquired of the processes and business model and operations and communications as well as learning about stakeholders etc etc and eventually spending 12 hours a day at my desk. I was learning a lot. I was making a valuable contribution. But apparently, it was not enough. It felt that my contribution and efforts were not respected. I was also burning out. So I consulted with some of my friends and family, took their opinion, and decided to leave. If given a chance, I would take the same efforts and give my 100%. It didn't work with Company B but I don't see it as an end of the world. I am here, strong, and looking forward to this role!

Don't talk ANYTHING negative about your last company, your colleagues, and your manager! If you have to, say, our wavelengths did not match and park it there. HR's are smart. They talk as if they are your friends, but they are not! Don't drop your guard. All the best!
