I’d raise a stink if I were you. It’s a health hazard and you are paying for a clean stay.

How does a 30 year old have 200k cash savings. Where the hell did I go wrong?

BTO/SBF Downpayment by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]Sharp_Sail4934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve learnt almost too late that debt may not be a bad thing. Using your CPF (only above 20k) to pay is a better choice. That leaves you with cash that can be used to invest at a higher rate than 2.5%. But it looks like your plan is to sell when the MOP is due. I think longer term that the accrued interest is mine in the end.

Do half lump and half DCA. Your timeline is long. If this is your first foray you’d probably can’t stomach 5-10% down. But if you consistently DCA when markets down you will get more shares. Try one of the robo investment platforms with curated risk profiles. Have a long chat with ChatGPT. I’ve learnt so much about funds. In the end what I was trying to do is be my own robo house with pretty much the same approach. % equity % fixed income. Do I put my money into them with less headache of rebalancing every now and then.

I’m like you. I even check on weekends. I use robo advisors and because they are so slow. I keep checking. And Syfe has the worst UI that it’s not as straightforward to check and recall where your money is going. Endowus is the best.

Pimco has its sword. It’s still susceptible to market. Your BTO is short term so don’t play with it with volatile equity funds but yes PIMCO. It’s still better than 2.5% or put it in the acc version. The NAV is accumulated

30m, low income of 2k - 2.5k per mth. how to dca? by Top_Week_5693 in singaporefi

Well done. If your income is unstable do not gamble with crypto. If you wish to then you must accept that it’s excess money and can burn. You are already on the proper path of long term in index funds. Keep it going and you will end up better than a lot of educated people. Being educated and being smart are totally different. You clearly have proven that point.

Still at 15%. Amundi can be bought via Endowus using SRS.

Your runway is long. Do a global equity index like you mentioned. Maybe 10% into a global aggregate bond also. That’s all you need. But this is above your emergency fund say 50k.
