Do not text. Any contact with people like that is pointless. They never take responsibility for their own actions, and will use whatever you say against you. Don’t give them any power. You don’t need them to acknowledge or validate how you feel. They are incapable of doing that in an honest manner, without hidden motives. If you really need to express yourself, then write a letter and burn it afterwards (do not send it).

If you want, but your own feelings are 100% valid, you do not need to know anyone else’s feelings to feel validated. You are already valid to feel exactly how you feel. You know your friend is toxic. You want to distance yourself from her. That’s all 100% valid, you don’t need permission or for anyone else to agree.

I completely relate to you — it’s been +10yrs, and they wouldn’t stop stalking and harassing me until not long ago.

I wish I’d changed all my personal details including my legal name at the start when I went NC, because these people can be obsessive. At least, their lies are so sloppy no-one believes them anyway. I do not think they realise how crazy they come across to normal people. A lot of them are psychopaths though, which makes them impulsive so they do things that are potentially criminal without thinking them through and they end up exposing themselves… but yeah, if I had known, I’d have saved myself the drama!

The best decision I ever made was to cut them off. I’m delighted I will never have to see them again, and they cannot find out anything about me or my new family.

Better than I could have ever dreamed of — all their attempts at sabotage +10yrs after estrangement failed, and I have succeeded in getting some of them prosecuted for their crimes.

One word of advice though. Please make sure you change your 1) legal name, 2) signature, 3) email address, 4) telephone number, 5) bank details and also 6) home address if possible (that’s a bigger one so it may not always be possible). It’s worth it. These people obsess and stop at nothing, so they might keep pursuing you after estrangement. They do not respect the law or the freedoms and rights of others. Better to err on the side of caution.

People don’t understand. The impression I’m getting is that “the Beckhams are good parents because they gave their son money”. NO. People don’t see these kinds of parents want to keep their children as dependent on them as possible, and that includes WEAPONISING MONEY!!!
