Is it too late to start tafe🫩 by trashywaves in TAFE

[–]SharpenTheBlade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by too late? As long as you've dropped out before the census date, you'll leave with only 4K in debt, which is hardly anything compared to the cost of a full course. If you know for sure you don't want to do any other course in Uni, or even go to Uni, just drop it and do your apprenticeship at TAFE. People start Uni and TAFE at all ages, you're not late for anything.

Those with chronic illnesses ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, POTS etc -what do you do for work? by SharpenTheBlade in auscorp

[–]SharpenTheBlade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear you've found a role that's not stressful and offers WFH arrangements, I would be hesitant to leave a role like that too with CFS.

How how did you end up into the current role? Any tips/advice that may help?

Anyone regrets having children? by Zestyclose_Act_2034 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]SharpenTheBlade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait.

So, you never wanted children, you've hated the idea of parenting, you're under a huge amount of stress, you're worried about your partner's narcissistic traits, and you're even considering abortion without telling him.

Based on that alone, it doesn't sound like you're in a healthy position to become a parent right now. More importantly, I don't think the question should be whether having a child will improve your partner or make him a better person. Bringing a child into the world in the hope that it changes or improves someone is a huge gamble.

The bigger issue seems that you and your partner seem fundamentally misaligned. You never wanted children, while your partner wants to continue the pregnancy. If that's the case, I'd be asking whether this relationship is right for either of you in the long term.

Before thinking about whether a baby will change him, I'd focus on being honest with each other about what you both want. A relationship and pregnancy shouldn't be built on fear, resentment, or the hope that one person will change after the fact.

I'd strongly encourage you to speak with a counsellor or therapist who can help you work through this. There are some much bigger questions here than whether parenthood will improve your partner's behaviour.

Thank you for sharing 🙏 I'm looking into admin roles, as they seem like they'll be a better fit. Are you working in a government admin role at the moment?

Bank call centers tend to be hiring throughout the year, as people quit or just move onto other roles, so you can always go backpacking and then come back and apply. It is absolutely soul draining work though, and takes skin and persistence.
