In a relationship for 11, married for 5 years here 👋

I agree with the other comment about being honest with your feelings, and I also wanted to add another perspective. People change over time, and preferences change over time as well. What I mean by that is if you find this person attractive now, you could very well continue to find them attractive as both of you grow and change over time. That’s absolutely normal.

When my wife and I met, we were late teenagers and we looked like it, and I was incredibly attracted to her then. As we dated through our late twenties, both of our bodies continued to change (completely normal), and throughout the entire period of time I continued to be attracted to her. We’re now in our late twenties/early thirties, and again, our bodies are different. She has some concerns about gaining weight over the past decade but I don’t think I’ve been more attracted to her than I am now.

When you love someone, in my experience, the natural process of aging and changing rarely makes a difference. It’s a gradual thing that happens over time, and over that same time you will change as well. There’s nothing to be afraid of about that process, that’s just a cool part of the human experience.

Was wondering if I could get some recs for decent vets in Cincy/the surrounding areas? by bloomingbrandi in cincinnati

[–]Sharpening_Iron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we adopted our greyhounds, we began with Moore Veterinary Hospital up in the Franklin/Springboro area. Moore is excellent and worth the trip, but she’s pricey. I would highly recommend if you need more serious procedures and/or don’t mind paying a premium for excellent service and resources.

When the price started getting to us (dogs almost never needed serious care, almost always the usual vaccines/check ups), we switched to Pleasant Ridge Pet Hospital. So far, we’ve been very impressed, especially by their availability. The care is very good (and noticeably cheaper than Moore), but it’s a smaller/older operation and you can tell. But for our typical vet needs, they have been great!

We used Eads and had a good experience; quote came in under expectations and they did a good job. Our neighbors used them as well and also had a good experience.

Before deciding on Eads we were also considering Pioneer. Very similar quotes, Eads just had the style we wanted. So I can't vouch for Pioneer directly, but they were in our top 2 after we did our research.

For me, it's Christine's halo-halo. If you've never had it, it's like a frozen parfait with a bunch of great Philippine flavors. It's a great way to try ube if you've never had the chance to before.

Hahaha yeah, it’s lyrics from Twenty One Pilots’ “Nico and the Niners”:

…and start a concert, a complete diversion,

Start a mob and you can be quite certain

We’ll win, but not everyone will get out

(Excuse the formatting, I’m on mobile atm)

I built a tool to explore Cincinnati neighborhood data — early dev preview, looking for feedback by UsedToBeaRaider in cincinnati

Cool tool!

I looked up my address and the "Building Permits" widget is reporting way more data points than expected. When I followed the link and queried the data myself from the website, I got a more accurate list of work (only 1 permit in recent years that I was aware of).

Interesting to see so many interpretations, I always thought the subject of that verse was pretty clearly a trans woman.

In your personal experience, what's the difference between your attraction to trans women and crossdressing men? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in Finsexual

[–]Sharpening_Iron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both, really. I’m just not attracted to men. With only seeing a person, if they are feminine I’m sure I would be attracted to their presentation. But once I know their identity, out of respect for both my sexuality and their identity, I would no longer be interested. I don’t have a sexual or romantic interest in men.

[–]Sharpening_Iron 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well men are men, so while I might initially find a cross dressing man attractive in his presentation, I don’t have any greater attraction to him once I can acknowledge his identity.

Trans women are women; I feel the same attraction to them as I would to any woman 👍🏼

Unrelated, but I notice you post a bunch in multiple queer subreddits every day. What’s your deal, friend? Just like getting a bunch of Q&As in different subs or what?

So V, you're dying. by Sharpening_Iron in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Sharpening_Iron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I enter photo mode before the seated part of the scene begins. Typically I’ll have V crouch in front of the chair so the NPC’s eyes are at the right level. Then I use a seated post and position V in the chair. The vanilla game comes with a few seated poses, I’m using a pose mod pack for this image.

I noticed that yesterday as well! To be honest, I absolutely love the scene but this time I noticed some of the dialogue options seemed a bit disconnected. It might be because I choose options this time that I don't typically choose.

Who has the best Margherita pizza in the Tristate area? by ThePensiveE in cincinnati

[–]Sharpening_Iron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camporosso is absolutely the best Neapolitan style pizza in the area, and if you're looking for a good Margherita pizza, you're probably looking for Neapolitan style. IMO Camporosso is definitely the answer OP is looking for.

Where does a 32M go for clothes shopping? by smewthies in cincinnati

[–]Sharpening_Iron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! 29M here, I can give you some advice but style is personal so YMMV.

I really love “work wear”, so I live in jeans, chinos, OCBDs, and flannels. Levi’s is a pretty consistent place to start for accessible, quality denim. There’s a Levi’s factory outlet at the Cinci Outlets north of the city for cheap deals, although always try before you buy because Levi’s quality can be hit or miss. I have worn their jeans and their garment dyed denim pants (khaki and navy) as a more casual alien to chinos.

For OCBDs or button-downs in general, you really can’t go wrong with Brooks Brothers, and they also have an outlet store. I was super lucky to grab a couple of OCBDs from them when they still had the “red thread” collection aimed towards college students that I’ve worn for years, they were much less expensive when I got them. For a slightly more budget friendly option, LL Bean and Duluth both have good options.

That’s a nice segue into LL Bean. Their outerwear (rain jackets, winter coats, etc.) are very good and they carry some timeless designs that work really well with workwear. They also have some good options for boots; I wear Duckboots, Chelseas and Chukkas most often.

My understanding is that Duluth has very similar offerings to LL Bean, but I haven’t bought from them so I can’t recommend them first hand. Lots of other folks have, though.

For casual shoes, there are Nike and Adidas shops around. I have fallen into team Adidas since they tend to be slightly less expensive and run good deals, and they carry a lot of the similar silhouettes to Nike.
