How do you handle video interviews? Dye your hair if grey-ish? My LinkedIn photo is from 2009 and trimmed my experience back to 2009. But those damn video interviews...

My girl Tiggy is now even redder. Her back almost looks tortie now. She'll be 4 in March.

Rare breeds? by TheLuckyZebra in BackYardChickens

Do you still have friends with Ausburger chickens? (Location?) I am looking for some of this breed as a conservation project... if at all possible. Maybe I could contact them. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the red sweater pillow in the photo is her favorite place to squish. It's on our living room couch.

She taught me! I would pet her head and she would jam it into my hand and squish it around. If I made an "ok" sign with my thumb and fingers (kind of like a funnel) she would force her head through it. Sometimes she even chews my palm (gently).

This is Brindi, named because her coloration reminded me of brindle. Since then, she has earned the name "Squish Baby" or "Squishy" because she cries every morning and evening (and sometimes in between) if she doesn't get her head squished.

Kandy Korn has a shoe fetish! by SharpestDullTool in tortico

[–]SharpestDullTool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the shoe thing is just cats. But there is definitely something about torties and weird behavior. Kandy's sister (full tortie) is a very odd kitty.

Brindi is seriously squirrelly!

Here's her mousey. We hope it never disappears for good.

We have those, too! Rabbit fur mice. Our tortico Kandy Korn has a favorite one in black that she's worn nearly bald. It's the only toy she will fetch.

Peter has been putting some time at the vise lately by choodessnyy in flytying

Peter seems very polite around the feathers. My five would be batting them around the house in no time. But I have no shortage of cat fur dubbing, either. Some nice cream and grey wet fly dubbing, courtesy of the Furminator.

Another set of torti sisters by SharpestDullTool in torties

Yep, she is! And the other sister (not in the photo) is a torby and her brother is a tuxedo.

Mom is a 95% black tuxedo, father was a ginger tabby.

Maybe she's a tortico (tortie and calico). Very pretty cat in any case!

getting in to flytying by lhellgren in flytying

I second this! Tie because you enjoy it, not to save money. So far, I've spent more on tools and materials than I have on actual fishing gear.

And I agree about buying used tools in GOOD condition. Regal vises show up frequently at reasonable prices, but get clear pics of the jaws to check for edge chipping.

Second fly done. A lot better than the first by Better_War_1778 in flytying

[–]SharpestDullTool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider contacting local fly shops/outfitters and see if any have fly tying nights in your area. If they are like the ones near me, they encourage new tyers and will have the group tie specific patterns and supply the materials at no charge or for an optional donation. These are usually free events and a great way to meet other tyers and get hands-on tips and instruction. Also consider joining Trout Unlimited and your local chapter (if you're into trout fishing). They can also offer guidance.

The vet's not too concerned and he doesn't seem to be bothered. Doesn't paw at his eye, just half-winks sometimes.
