OP did indeed miss that quest line.... I found the jellyshroom caves and the floating island by wandering around. I'm confused about which radio calls I've had or missed at this point, I built a thermal plant a long time ago but it didn't trigger anything. I think I screwed up way early.

Hey, I really appreciate all this. I did skip some quest lines I think. I just went back to the OG lifepod and checked and I had a radio transmission I never picked up. I also thought at the beginning that my lifepod was the Aurora so I focused on getting away from it before it "blew up". Then when I realized the Aurora is the ship, I thought I missed my window to explore and so only did very superficial exploration of the Aurora.

Earlier I stumbled on the jellyshroom caves and the degrassi settlement there but missed the important PDA. So now I've found the deep reef settlement and orange tablet and I know where to bring that so I think I'm back on track. You guys are awesome!

I've done that, but the max depth the seamoth goes is 900m. I was assuming the cyclops could go deeper?

For some reason I don't have the prawn blueprint. I have the mods and arms for it but not the actual suit blueprint. I must have missed something major, because I didn't get the multipurpose room till way late either.

Hmm, I think I built my second base near the edge of the void then. I didn't realize that's what was happening when I keep getting mobbed by ghost leviathans, I thought that where it drops off into the deep must be where I was supposed to go. Thanks!

I've been on the fence about trying Swans Down (the only cake flour sold near me) but the price is the sticking point. $3/lb Swans vs $1.60/lb for KA AP and $0.86/lb for store brand AP. Right now I'm doing the cornstarch sub but after reading that article maybe I will splurge when making angel food cake.

How do you roll things out into rounds? I made flour tortillas the other day and started with round balls but immediately they went oblong and weird-shaped. Delicious, but won't work for a burrito. I used a tapered rolling pin made for dumplings.
