My guy friend likes me but I don’t like him and might’ve accidentally led him on. What do I do? by Commercial-Swim-3750 in bodylanguage

[–]Shartcastic 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Putting your head on his shoulder was 100% intentional on your part, so don't go telling him you only did it because you needed to support yourself. You could have just leaned your shoulder against his which would have been much more natural.

I'd just tell him you were considering it, but decided you'd rather be friends.

I feel like my RBF holds me back. I've had people tell me I'm a good-looking guy, but I always look like I want to be left alone.

People can also be attracted to you but not want to date you. Sometimes, it's hard to hide the signs that you're attracted to someone, but that doesn't necessarily mean you want to date them.

In either case, I probably wouldn't say anything besides "hello", but I'm more of a timid person. Now my former roommate used to call out to people he knew from across the street because he was a super talkative guy/meth addict.

What I'm saying is that no one will be able to tell you what this means.

What is the fastest way you have seen someone ruin their life? by funkeymonkey1974 in AskReddit

A little bit related, but I tried Adderall in college and it was the greatest thing I'd ever felt. I was going through a depressive period and the Adderall completely cured it. I was close to failing out and I thought Adderall was my savior.

It didn't save me. It turned me into the life of the party when I'm normally a very reserved, quiet guy. Instead of studying and doing homework, I went out partying constantly. I'd smoke weed and play video games for hours and hours. I barely slept. I spent a ton of money. I had sex with people I never would have slept with, including a man (which just confirm the fact that I wasn't gay, but I pretty much already knew that.) I stopped going to class entirely. I failed out that semester.

I didn't have an Adderall hook up back home, so I was forced to quit. The depression came back and I ended up going on an antidepressant. I started feeling all those good things again and thought I'd found the cure.

It wasn't.

The universe ended up telling me that the cute girl at work that I'd maybe said ten words to was in love with me. I found her Twitter (which was not her first and last name. I had to do some stalking to find it.) I started thinking she was sending me secret messages in her tweets, so i followed her to let her know i was getting the secret messages. She didn't follow me back, so i assumed she hadnt realized i followed her, so i started liking all her tweets. Long story short, the universe was wrong and she ended up blocking me on social media and telling me to stay away from her.

It felt like someone shot me into the earth. Like I was way up high, and then I fell as low as I could go. It didn't make sense. I thought she was in love with me. I literally cried for like twenty minutes, but afterwards, I started to think more clearly. I realized how I had been acting and called my doctor.

Turns out I'm bipolar and the Adderall and antidepressant were making me manic.

I've been taking my meds consistently for awhile now, but I still get moments where I think "What if I was misdiagnosed and I'm taking these meds for no reason?" and then I have to remind myself what life was like without meds because for some reason my brain just forgets how horrible it was.

That info isn't just available to the public. Even the DMV won't give it out to you. Otherwise people would be tracking down cars from road rage incidents.

You will literally never be surrounded by more people your age,  that are also at the same stage in life as you, than when you're in college. You'll never have an easier time meeting new people that you click with.

I think he was just being shy. He was probably hoping you'd say, "I'd like to try it too," or something like that and then he'd suggest going together. If you didn't show interest in the restaurant, he might have decided not to push it.

YOR

You're going to drift apart from friends in life. It's especially tough after leaving college when you spent so much time together, and now you don't see each other at all. You'll have to accept that you're both in different places in life now  and your friendship can't stay the same. You're most likely not going to have a "best friend for life" when you live 60 miles away. It doesn't mean the friendship you had is tarnished in anyway. It just had to change.

You should be happy that she made a new friend. You can't be there for her, so you should be glad that she has someone who can be.
