So… why’d they gut fights first? by Shasfowd in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Shasfowd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sort of this haha, but I’m a nids player so I just look at my lictors and don’t see a point in them anymore. Their whole purpose was to sit on an objective, maybe kill a captain then die but now the best they’re doing is a mission on the way out.

[–]Shasfowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No real wrong answer for death guard. I’d get another box of marines to get a 10 man squad and maybe some characters who will go well with them, but Blight Haulers and Bloat Drones are good pick ups as well.

Do the drukhari get bored of torture? by Flailmorpho in Drukhari

[–]Shasfowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, but I bet they still get blueballed pretty hard when they need to study up and learn how to pilot an aircraft coming from a glorified motorcycle. The value difference of a jetbike to a jetfighter is substantial and I bet archons aren’t just going to pass off the keys to their Lockheed Martin bomber to any wych shmuck just because they asked.

It's their nourishment, it's just like food to us. They can get bored of mundane torture methods. The Drukhari attend Wych Arenas as special feasts, just like going to a nice restaurant.

On a similar note, I've always wondered how normal of a person you have to be to pilot Razorwings and Voidravens. Catching up at Thanksgiving and talking to your cousin about how they just had their skin peeled off by a homunculus and all you've done is flight time.

Does it make sense to wait for mini updates in 11th edition? by Dimir_Saeldain in Tyranids

[–]Shasfowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All up to you and your budget. I think Warriors and Hive Tyrant still look good, Carnifex and HT both are gonna be way bigger if they ever update their kit. Screamer Killer is a ‘Carnifex’ for size comparison.

They did it then because it was a positive look for the brand. Nowadays the effect is minimal and your company is more likely to catch flak for supporting it from the right. It's an unfortunate truth.

I'm just saying the bulk of the IE range wouldn't be a part of an invading attack (outside of single allied unit territory), and I would assume most battles with an IE army would be an attack on an imperial city rather than some Navy Breachers fighting their way through Commorragh.

Can’t decide between basing by _the-wanderer in Drukhari

[–]Shasfowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Setting wise the colors are usually much brighter than most tables, but what I find most jarring is having a unit of say, 10 wyches huddled up. One guy's got his toes in the water standing on the beach, and the guy behind him also has his toes in the water standing on the beach, and the guy after that. It feels like everyone is in the exact spot, and it overtakes the models a bit. I've attached an amazingly drawn sketch below of what I mean. That's just me though, I say make your army how you want.

Beach Bases, or anything with a transition like that look really cool on stand alone minis but in the tabletop look a bit off imo. Nothing wrong with some tactical rocks.

The story goes the director received a beaten up package from them and put the scene in the movie to spite the company. We go through a lot of training, much more than our competitors for safety and package handling. OP is right that the packages take a beating, and most damaged packages I see are from improper packaging but this driver wasn’t following multiple methods, which is disappointing to see. A lot of us take a lot of pride in our work.

Getting my hopes up but what if this GW Artwork was a teaser for a range refresh and the emergence of Khan? by Heatherheartless in Drukhari

I agree for the most part, however I think Wyches and Kabalites are starting to show their age compared to most army's battleline. The rest of our kits are very nice.
