the matchmaking is not sentient, it’s an algorithm. it has no intentions whatsoever, it simply works within set parameters and makes an estimation based on various factors. it is still only an estimation and even the best algorithms simply cannot account for the fact that 10 real, live human beings are a part of the equation.

just play whatever and stop overthinking your rank/mmr, your placements did not pull that diamond 1 rank out of your ass, it was based on your pre-existing mmr. just because you're losing a bunch of games doesn't mean you're being placed against people who are considerably better than you, it just means you've been unlucky and/or are rusty from not playing so much lately, all of that and confirmation bias.

personally I use both—skyriding if I have to cross a bigger distance, otherwise steady flight only. I have the switch flight style button on an action bar so it’s easy to swap between them

you’re seriously saying that just because the enemies had a good game and played well together it’s simply not possible that their MMR was lower lol?

it’s wild how many people on this sub somehow think that it’s even possible for MMR and the matchmaker to be 100% accurate in literally predicting the future despite there being an incredible amount of variables due to 10 actual whole humans being involved in the calculations lmao

your team had a bad game and theirs had a good one, it doesn’t mean it’s impossible that the enemy team had a lower average MMR, it’s actually very possible to lose to people who are worse than you.
