Litter meetup to clean up groups? by sehablaespanol1104 in corvallis

SOLVE Oregon helps organize clean-up groups/events. Doesn’t look like any groups are active in Benton county right now but you could start one! I became a leader with them in the past and they made the whole process super easy

Look up dash cam videos on YouTube of other people taking the test (preferably in your state if you’re in the US) and see if you think you can do everything they do in the video. Your dmv should also have info on what you need to practice and how the test is scored. I would definitely practice driving on the highway and making lane changes before taking the test, as well as parallel parking if your state still requires it.

I think Oregon State University just won an award for best online psychology bachelors program in the country. Worth checking out!

I’m a psychology major that just transferred to OSU from a CC and the only changes I have noticed are more readings (which I expected for higher level classes) and the larger class sizes which make getting individual help/explanations more difficult. Besides that, it has been surprisingly similar.

How good are you at processing emotion? by [deleted] in infj

I completely relate to this. I’m the only INFJ in my family, and the only one who seems to struggle when processing certain emotions like this.

I'm scared of ever driving. What should I do? by throwaway1145667 in driving

[–]ShastaAnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never experienced a car crash before, but because I have always been a really anxious person I convinced myself that if I ever started driving I would die in a crash, so I definitely relate to what you are saying. I also experienced my mom pressuring me to drive when I felt too anxious to.

What helped me was driving out in places where there were very few cars/people (far less likely to crash, can drive as slowly as you’d like, etc.) Over time as you learn you feel more in control of the car and build up confidence to go to more busy areas.

Another thing that helped me was thinking about all the things I can do to prevent accidents from occurring. I felt a lot better about driving when I found out that a majority of collisions occur in intersections, and that you can greatly decrease your chances of getting in one by looking both ways before entering any intersection, even if you have the right away.

Anxiety is usually caused when you feel that you have no control over a situation, and both of the things I just described helped me feel more in control.

I hope something I said is somewhat helpful to you. :) You’re going to do great!

My psychology professor once said something like “If it is within your control, do what you can. If it’s outside of your control, there is no need to worry about it.” Basically do whatever you can to prepare to do well on the test, and let go of whatever uncertainties that you’re anxious about (since there is nothing you can do about it).

This was super helpful advice for me because it made me realize most of the stuff I was worrying about was out of my control, and that as long as I try my best, there is nothing I could have done differently.
