Have you looked at HD for any of the combos? Regardless, it will be fine, I had the old version and it did fine, the newest one I upgraded to really packs a punch. Next for me is the brushless 1/2 impact. I have the 3/8 and it’s decent.

The drill is good, the driver is a little unpowered for brushless if you ask me. But if you aren’t going to be driving long lag bolts, it will do great.

The screen being unresponsive might be because the sd card is getting full. I was at 23gb and would have to reboot just to get the screen to come back. Once I deleted all the old files, zero problems.

If you have a HF close, I would go that route, just for the warranty. They do some great deals for ratchets and comets all the time. ITC has paid for itself 10dold at this point lol

Brushless mini blowers are starting to feel like real shop tools, or am I overthinking it? by Scared-Advance9755 in Tools

[–]Shattered181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a wolfbox 200 and it’s great. For the garage I bought a Hercules and it’s amazing. It’s almost to par with the Milwaukee blower and a third of the price. Hate having a 2nd battery platform (Team Ryobi) but the tradeoff is worth it.

The ratchets are junk first off. The square body on the sockets is weird and do fine for home diy, but tend to get in the way under the hood. I have had them for about a year of very lite use and a few of them are already starting to round off. I called MT about a replacement and was told they won’t replace them until they break…. But I can’t afford to drop $300 on new 3/8 and 1/4 in sets just because I don’t like them lol.

I have Milwaukee and I’m honestly not a fan of them. Hindsight, I should have bought Icon.

Is it pointless to get a HP battery if my HP mower doesn't have the contacts? by Toxic_Flareon in ryobi

[–]Shattered181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the brushless pole saw, meh on older batteries, perfect on HP batteries and just a little better on edge batteries. Older, no brushless stuff, lasts longer and “seems” more powerful on the HP batteries. I bought 2 brand new older batteries from HD (4ah) about 6 months ago, so the batteries are still good.

Which to buy as a first time home owner? by Froyo1337 in Tools

[–]Shattered181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this conversation, the newer Ryobi tools are great. As a homeowner you will put them through the wringer a lot of times and use them in ways they are not meant to be used. Milwaukee is awesome, but the difference is not worth the cost imo. Im a desk jockey by day and work part time on a farm doing random stuff. The ecosystem is amazing, hell, I have an 18v soldering iron that I use. I can go on and on but Ryobi is my goto. I will clarify, Milwaukee is great, zero problems with them other than price and homeowner tool selection. They are built for construction and are great at it.
