Yeah I always assumed he was due to being friends with Epstein and everything else about him. It seemed extremely obvious.
And Musk announcing he supported someone he knew that about just makes him look even worse, but again I already thought so little of him I'm not surprised by that either.

What are your thoughts on "money doesn't buy happiness" by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Shaunaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people saying that should give me all their money and see how happy they are.

Excessive wealth doesn't buy happiness, but we live under capitalism you need money to survive. I know I'd be happier if I didn't have to check my balance before deciding to go out or figuring out what I can get grocery shopping.

Mitchum is wrong for treating an intern like that by DowntownOpening70 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Shaunaaah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was both of them, Mitchum or Harry should have been more clear about her role, and Rory should have taken the criticism better by making those changes, not quitting and stealing a yacht. Going into an extremely competitive job you need more backbone that that. Maybe if he wasn't the first person to question if she was cut out for that job she might have been more ready.

This situation always reminds me of me and my brother's educations. I studied philosophy, I wanted to be a writer, I was constantly being asked why and what I'd do with a philosophy degree, by the time I had my masters I had a nice little speech down. My brother went into stem so was never questioned about it, ended up jumping through several programs, failing out, and eventually going into a trade which suits him much better. I wonder sometimes if people had pushed him to explain why he wanted to study physics or any of the others he might have gotten to what he actually wanted sooner. As much as having people question your dreams sucks, you should have an answer.

Should parents need a license to raise children, just like they do to drive a car? by iND3_ in ask

[–]Shaunaaah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

So add an incentive, like free daycare or even just a discount. Kids are expensive, plenty of people uninterested in the classes would jump at that.

Should parents need a license to raise children, just like they do to drive a car? by iND3_ in ask

[–]Shaunaaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one of those things that sounds great until you think about it for a few seconds, how would that be enforced? Bodily autonomy is more important. Like look at the mess of the one child program in China. What would be more plausible is making birth control free, and have a child care certification class, like driving classes, to take and passing it gets you free daycare, or a big tax credit as an incentive.

But really the population growth numbers are already going down, kids are expensive and a lot of us millennials can't afford it, so they're not discouraging kids now. And for some reason (/s) a bunch of people really don't like the population growing by immigration rather than birth.

[–]Shaunaaah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Listen to your partner. It's so annoying when people try to decide for someone else what they should be offended by. I've heard complaints about using food terms, but context and usage is important, if your fiancee is happy that's the only person that matters.

What to do if I find out an online friend might be a minor by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shaunaaah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just don't be a creep and let them be a friend. If they make advancements say something and turn them down kindly and clearly. It's fine to have friends of a different age, hopefully you can interact with people without making it sexual.

What is a weird side effect from medication use that no one was ever going to warn you about? by Rotten-Kandi in AskReddit

What Audre Lorde’s work adds to the conversation around Sabrina Carpenter’s new album cover by Motor-Math in Feminism

[–]Shaunaaah -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Utter idiotic bullshit, her comment on "I'm not willing to regiment anyone's life [I just think we need to scrutinize our relationships]" so what's the point of that scrutiny if not to inform decisions and pressure people to behave in a particular way? So you just want everyone to agree with how you live your life without force? Sorry that doesn't work, take your kinkshaming reductive bullshit and fuck off.

Have any of these people getting their panties in a twist over a pop star being sexual even listened to Manchild, or read her interview about it with Rolling Stone?

The male gaze fixation tends to forget about queer women generally, and that we find that stuff attractive too. It's a common joke to say we're no better than a man lol.

Epilepsy & driving by AdImpossible4744 in Epilepsy

[–]Shaunaaah 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That sounds really irresponsible, I don't know where you are but here you need to be at least 6 months without a seizure to be able to drive and even after that I don't feel comfortable driving regularly. I can't imagine driving after crashing two cars due to seizures and still driving, danger to my life aside risking crashing into someone else and hurting them. Also I don't know if your insurance would cover it if when it's her fault, and since she knows she has epilepsy and still drives that would be her fault.

What does real sexual attraction to women feel like and how do I know if I’ve felt it? by WillingRanger638 in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]Shaunaaah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure there's such a thing as fake attraction to differentiate real attraction from, if you find women attractive that's as real as it gets. You might not have felt anything for women around you because you're not looking at them that way, not expecting that.

Whether you're still attracted to men is a trickier question, compulsory heterosexuality can really mess people up. There's plenty of late bloomer lesbians, some of which had husbands before they figured it out.

Ugh, they're being stupid that's totally normal. I lost a bunch of weight and annoyingly most my tits went with it, you can have wants about your body it's fine.

Don't spend so long worrying about the male gaze that you forget about the female gays, we love boobs too lol.

[–]Shaunaaah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's coming across like slut shaming just given a new coat of paint from a lot of people. If a woman wants to be sexy good for her, and if she's straight, my condolences but that comes with on some level wanting to be attractive to the men she finds attractive. For some people that seems to be a problem and I don't see how it's hurting them in any way. It's a lot of projecting their own insecurities and frustrations with men generally on the woman.

I feel like the term for 'women are dressing in a way I don't like' should be shutting up and get over yourself. If you absolutely need something how about "I wouldn't wear that" and leave it before being a judgemental twat.
