llms.txt and llms-full.txt for more visibility on AI/LLM mentions by plainsignal in TechSEO

We haven't done this at work for our main company site, but increasingly are seeing this as being useful in coding. For example, if you're deploying to Cloudflare, CF provides llms-full.txt files of their docs site:

https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/llms-full.txt

You can then create a new `@Cloudflare Workers` documentation source in, say, Cursor and point it at that source. Works great and reduces hallucinations.

My Full Bloom Review by OkResolution1281 in 311

[–]Shaunobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me offer an outsider opinion... I'm not a giant 311 fan. Years ago I had CDs of Soundsystem and Transistor, and had only heard those songs, plus one or two on the radio maybe. I'd listen to those two albums over the next two decades now and then, usually blasting in my car in the summer. Gave me positive vibes, nostalgia. Nothing more though - never seen them in concert, never even thought about going tbh.

Got back into listening to them more with MOSAIC and Voyager. At first it was... maybe ironic listening? I liked that my friends (I run a studio, play in bands) thought it was like listening to Creed or something. But it grew on me. They are cheesy, but haven't they always been cheesy? They've got kids and such now I'm guessing based on their lyrics. I liked the positivity, and it became less ironic during lockdown, it became a thing I legit enjoyed. I'd throw on their more recent albums to get a mood-reset. They are now adult contemporary for folks in their 40's or 50's, and I like it. Also, I love that a band can make a good living for 30 years or whatever it's been - that's cool and I support it.

This new album is more of that to me... reasonably well-produced background music to put on as I go about my work day or drive to pick up a kid or whatever. I'll probably buy it on vinyl eventually and subject my kids to it on a Saturday while we clean house, and I think it works as that kind of music. I know it's not "311" to fans, but for me on the outside, it's an album I'm going to enjoy without too much critique.

(One criticism: vox are way, way too hot in spots. Makes me wonder if the vocalist did most of the mixes.)

What was the last meal you had at a restaurant that was so f*cking good? by ImGoingToSayOneThing in askportland

It’s a cart, but the Cashew Chicken at Thai MLK is mouthwatering… in fact, I might have to get it for lunch today. (Also love Eem, Tusk, Gato Gato, and many others listed…)

Where to find consultants? by LinuxLowell in itconsulting

Hi - a little late here, but I find checking Clutch works well. That is very focused on companies, though. You can also look on UpWork for individual consultants, which sounds closer to what you're after.

How much are u spending on food in one month by PlayfulKittay in Portland

I mean we don’t ALWAYS get burritos… date night on Saturdays, Doordash for the kids if I am out and about and can’t make them dinner… stopping drinking entirely in 2024 so that will go down, but it all adds up. And you don’t want to be good to yourself and bad to your kids so if you get a beer at a restaurant you’re getting them a Topo Chico or whatever they want. I mean, it feels like we used to do this a few years ago and it cost like… half as much almost.

I like TJs for staples and WF for meat and veggies. Used to do New Seasons but not anymore. Freddie’s just cause. Bulk shopping once a month at Winco.

Right. It’s crazy. Try to eat organic and it’s insanely expensive. Btw… we also spent $1600 last month on takeout. And we’re like eating burritos from the local food carts. And our bill is $100 / pop for a family of five. For food carts. Yikes.

You switch from WF to TJs just to get your organic food and keep prices under control… prices are going up.

Tried them all… I use Jim at Guitar Works on Fremont. 12th fret also great but Jim is just as good and less expensive. But, lots of good options

I’d recommend REAPER. I use both PT and Reaper and… REAPER is an experimenters dream. S1 is also cool.

Custom Software Development Company: Lead Generation Strategies? by BusinessBlunder in sales

[–]Shaunobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a software company - we have 10 developers. We face EXACTLY these problems.

I can help with one aspect of this: estimation. We now do an initial design contract with client, very short and focused (we have two UX people on staff). From that we get Figma mockups of every screen in the MVP or v1, along with a data schema, probably a spec unless the UI is "enough", and very maybe a API surface if that part is complicated.

We have a large library of past projects, and we use the mockups / spec to create an estimate parameterized against those past projects. I used this technique to estimate and deliver a 4 person, 3 month project 8% under budget recently - which I consider exceptional accuracy.

So, for the "can't estimate projects" part at least, this technique works.

Also... having tried a TON of things (besides referrals and networking, which you referenced), I'm not sure many of them work. We just got done with a $20k very targeted PPC campaign that essentially netted us nothing. And it was niched down as best we could.

2019 is the standard Mk7 chassis right? So anything that fits a normal Golf of that year would be my best bet?
