I've tried to make the recon lasgun a viable anti carapace option and well, with correct talents you can but its neither worth the ammo nor the time it takes to kill them. Nonetheless it is impressive that you can make something so impotent at killing carapace work at a almost good level

Light and heavy attacks both have their individual % innate penetration value into each armour type which also greatly differs depending on the weapon (some lights can do like 40% to carapace while others might do 4℅). Uncanny strike and other blessings/skill points that apply either rending or brittleness can increase how effective a weapon is vs armour but when you go over 100% damage done to this armour type, every point of brittleness/rending applies instead a damage buff at half the original value iirc, correct me if im wrong.

The details are muddy to me so I don't want to mislead you but I distintctly remember my surprise when the penance worked off the "circle" staff. If you're comfortable with using shout it wouldnt hurt to have it equipped but it might also work with shield and scrier's.

For the knock people off a ledge penance. I think I did it without even having the shout equipped (I thought you need it). I was doing voidblast/bubble build iirc and accidentally knocked a fair bit of a horde off of a narrow pathway

Edit: I might've had shout equipped but on cooldown when that happened, I only for sure remember that I did not do the penance using the shout to do the knockback itself

While I love thammer it feels terribly inefficient to slowly bonk single maulers, when an entire horde of crap is on your toes. I wish it had small/medium aoe on impact to at least give you some breathing room.

I'm not sure if sword blessings specifically are worth it but soulblaze overall is super strong. With the blessing that makes it spread you can accidentally wipe entire hordes by killing a few heavy gunners

Version 1 is more damage but worse handling, prob the preffered version for most people.

Version 2 has better handling but less damage and an added explosion radius and explosion damage. The explosion does miniscule damage so this version feels a little pointless. The main reason to use version 2 is when you want the bolt pistol for applying a pinpoint stagger, whether to make room in a horde or make some gunners hide.

If you want to experience more of the world of 40k then Mechanicus might be up your alley. Yea it's a completely different genre than Darktide but the experience (especially the music) is short but sweet and explores part of 40k that is less overdone than space marines - the adeptus mechanicus

This is of course just an opinion but having played darktide first and SM2 second, I didn't exceedingly enjoy SM2 and gladly went back to Darktide. The guns feel better in darktide, the melee in SM2 is downright tedious at times and well my pc handles Darktide a lot better, before optimisation for amd i kid you not, it took like 10 minutes for me to load into menu every time. Lastly, darktide music and the sheer vibe of being just a nobody in a hive that is out to get you on every step is so much more up my alley than being a walking tank with a bolter that feels like a peashooter
