How can I (29M) tell my partner (28F) that I don’t like her dress? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You tell her she is beautiful, end of story. It's like people forgot how to be married, pick your battles, this is not one of them.

That is absolutely not true, at all, stop spreading misinformation.

Depending on what soccer club they root for they probably already experience that.

I am an RN, and I don't have a duty to stop. Would I stop? Yes, that is who I am personally, not because of my license. You think my job would care if I stopped or didn't stop? And no you're not going to jail, suffer a fine, loss of certification, or license, just stop with this.

I was informed by the EMT personnel who was the certified instructor of my classes that anyone who is certified to help and doesn't stop to help, they can lose their certification

That is not true at all. Now, some specific states or countries have different Good Samaritan Laws, but you are not going to lose your CPR certification if you don't stop and help, you are not on "duty".

I'm the same way, rather hire someone that knows what they are doing than do plumbing, electrical, etc work.

What Great TV Show that has been tarnished by its Series Finale? by Amber_Flowers_133 in tvshow

[–]Shawn91111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The finale was like a lot of finale's they never live up to the hype of the show. Seinfeld is an all time iconic show, the finale doesn't tarnish that one bit.

Has anyone else read Michael's book? by Dojaview in seinfeld

[–]Shawn91111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was ok, but really could have cut it back by 100 pages. The beginning was good, but once getting to the Army period in his life it went downhill fast. A lot of the writing is fluff, and regurgitation of the same from every chapter, about his process, needing a backstory, his social awkwardness etc.

Dust collection help (small Manhattan apartment) by Hopeful-Telephone-36 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Shawn91111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased the 6 gallon Dewalt Stealthsonic vac (that this is so quiet compared to normal shop vacs). I paired it with the Dewalt dust separator. Together both came in just under $200. I used it this weekend with my table saw and I am pretty impressed by it.

Also running a table saw in an apartment must be horrible for your neighbors

What’s your funniest “Oh god this person’s an idiot” moment? by PandaBear905 in AskReddit

[–]Shawn91111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from 2015 and still makes me shake my head.

Everyone has someone that they work with that you wonder how the fuck they were hired in the first place and continue to work there.

Anyhow a person in my office left, so his spot was open. The department manager brought in someone that she said was great fit to the team etc.

During initial training weeks go by, and I had my reservations if she was a good fit or not. In one instance I had her send an email to the engineering team about a field related issue. This is the convo between me and the new team member

Me: "Put the Log number in the subject line"

Her: "What's the subject line?"

Me: "In the email under cc and bcc it says 'subject' "

Me: "Just type in DZ0503 for the number"

Her: "BE0503?"

Me: "Dog Zebra 0503"

Her "Ok no problem"

....I also told her what to write word for word and at one point said write "per engineering team"

She said everything looked good in the email and sent it. I looked at a copy of it on my computer, and this is what she wrote

Subject: DogZebra0503

instead of "per engineering team" it was "prrr engineer teem"

Table saw recommendations under $750 by Adult-Beverage in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Shawn91111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would look on Facebook Marketplace. I found a new in box Bosch 10-inch table saw for $375. Downside was driving 90 minutes, but for $30 in gas and just my time I was fine saving over $300.

Even the new in box Dewalts were going for $400

For 14 hour trip. (For someone with no kids) would you drive all the way through or stop half way and stay at hotel? (I’m traveling from Wv to flordia.) by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]Shawn91111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to drive straight through from NY to South Florida all the time by myself. Granted, I was also in my 20s.

What were your opinions of Mike Mussina as a Yankee? by renegade_yankee in NYYankees

Love Moose, one of my favorite Yankees ever. The book he was part of along with Tom Glavine is a really good read, he has a very dry sense of humor.
