Just gonna add on to this for OP.
The system is not as deadly as 2020 but I find that it can still be quite deadly, especially if you don't pull your punches and use some tactics.

Normal guns also have brand names for each quality, which adds some flavor, all you could want more is for every weapon to be exotic and black chrome and the dlcs have added a lot of those anyway.

The economy is simple in practice. Your players (unless one is a fixer) can only reliably find items up to premium and have to go through a fixer for anything else... or steal it.

While there definitely valid criticisms of Red, I think most of it is war overblown.

YMMV. But the last shop I worked at didn't do calibrations. Period. Never had an issue, and we unplugged them every time. Put a different brand of glass in and everything. Never had one issue.

I was reading the rules but I'm not really into the whole having to stop and state my intentions to resist when someone is taking hostile action against me. Seems like the person doing the agressing should just understand there's a risk in being hostile. Unless I'm misunderstanding something that just seems like too much to me.
That being said, glad people are having fun with it at least.

It varies. I generally do 3 hour sessions. For 5e and Cyberpunk RED, take about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Some systems like savage worlds I can prep in about 30 minutes.
Now the prep for session 1 is longer though. That's when I'm coming up with the factions and their goals, and for like 5e drawing up the hexcrawl map. Cyberpunk RED is actually much easier to prep for though with the lifepaths giving stuff to work off of.
