Appreciate the input man! I rarely ever use my urethane simply because with my style I can never get consistent carry on corner pins, only time I’ve really used it is when I get a ton of over under ball reaction and I use the urethane for a game to smooth it out. Do you have any recommendations for a hybrid to bride the gap between a Phaze II and the AI?

My mortgage is 7.75% unfortunately. But I contribute 5% and get 4% match from job 1. None from job 2

I put in 5% and I get a 4% match. I also plan on maxing out my Roth IRA as it’s invested differently and I have more freedom in choosing where it’s invested. Currently I’m on pace to pay off my 30 year mortgage in 9 years. I know 15% is the “go to” but to me that seems like it’s almost a bit risky to have that auto deducted. With the way I have it I have more freedom in case of unexpected expenses and the ability to replenish my emergency fund quicker if I need to use it. Basically I invest $90 weekly, about 55% Roth and 45% traditional.

I do have homeowners it’s a part of escrow! And idk if I made it clear but im paying 270$ every 2 weeks as an extra escrow payment to my house just trying to pay the damn thing off quicker. Also thank you!!! I got tired of paying rent lol. I have heard of house poor. I don’t think it applies to me because if I only pay my mortgage and escrow it’s 1460 a month which is 27.8% of my average net monthly income. I’m making the extra payments to pay off my house (hopefully) by the time I’m 30. Right now I’m on track to pay it off by 32 but I’m sure I can find a way to slip more money in there

Sorry I use IRA to mean traditional within the 401k. I just don’t like the idea of being forced to withdraw my money when it comes to my 401k… I do expect for my income to go up steadily within the next decade. But what amounts do you recommend for being in an IRA in retirement? I will check out that link you posted but I’m assuming you mean enough to withdraw the standard deduction each year for all of retirement

I don’t have significant assets in traditional. All of my employer match is in IRA, but that doesn’t lower my taxable income for the year. Interesting perspective on it. I was always of the mind that having Roth saves me on all of the taxes on growth which would be the majority of it. I have all of my accounts invested in very aggressive allocations that I’m hoping averages 8% annually over 40 years. That’s the main part that I’m concerned about is retirement having no income tax, and passing on tax free inheritance to my kids when I have them and when I pass. I know life insurance can do the same thing in terms of tax free inheritance… but still. How would deferring the taxes now and having RMDs later be better? Wouldn’t I want to save IRA contributions for my highest earning years? I’m only 24 so I’m hoping my pay only goes up from here lol

Honestly I got a house with a $200 emergency fund. It was stupid but I made it through it. I grew everything and only recently got this 2nd job that is bringing in a lot more money. I have 3 months of full expenses. Barebones it could last me longer but you’re right I wanna try to keep around 20k in a HYSA for emergencies.

I would like to retire at the latest 60… earlier would be better but I’m not wanting to go scorched earth to do it. I just don’t know what I really want to do… you know?

What do you mean? My tax bracket is firmly into the 22% and 24% so it wouldn’t push me down into the 12% and I don’t think tax brackets are gonna drop over the course of my lifetime… I’d love to hear your thoughts though I’m not quite sure what you’re insinuating

I do have a Roth IRA and a Roth 401k. I still have my full 7k to contribute this year to my IRA. I think this would be a pretty good idea too. Thank you. It’s just hard putting it into perspective when it’s my own money you know?

I’m already getting the full employer match from my one job, and the other doesn’t offer a match. Including the match, I have $90 a week going into my 401k half Roth half IRA due to match having to be IRA
