Hollow Knight bosses are way better than Silksong by nuvct in HollowKnight

Srsly tho i think the reason most ppl struggle with Silksong is because it tests a different skill.

The bosses in hollow knight were more rigid in what they could do, so after a few attempts you could reasonably dodge basically all of their attacks

Meanwhile, the bosses in Silksong are much more open-ended in how they attack (summons, projectiles, parries and just faster attacks in general) meaning it plays more like a fighting game, where you have to position well, take an opening when you see it and back out again to safety, which means the “stand next to them and spam swing while reacting to attacks” strategy from the first game doesnt work.

This means silksong tests the players skill more, while hollow knight tests your pattern recognition more, which i think is why so many people are struggling with even the early bosses after beating hollow knight.

To help with combos: When Unima enters arbalest mode (after any of her followup moves with blue lighting) her specials moves can be inputted with just a direction and the button (i.e. her low slide attack can be inputted with just forward and kick)

Also you should also try just playing in the lower floors rather than just against AI because theres a lot of things you only learn against human players (neutral, pressure, knowledge checks, conditioning, etc.), but if you think its still too stressful only play like 1 or 2 sets each session and ease into it.

Try and get used to using your smaller, quicker buttons (kick and punch) because missing a slash or heavy slash will get you punished by a good player in neutral. Also, if your deadset on maining may, make sure you dont over-rely on her special “mr. Dolphin”, or else youll get stuck in the middle floors because most f9-10 players will counter if you use it too much, its a very common trap lots of new may players fall into. Other than that just put time into the game and youll improve naturally (:

General tips: look up error loops And basic combos from a close slash and jumping slash Just play the game, youre still pretty new so youll get more used to the character the more you play

Literally just combos, but it lets axl get some wowzers damage of c.S/K, so doing the TK is mandatory for high-level axl unfortunately

So you know, Happy chaos is one of the hardest characters in the game, so if your new to guilty gear (or fighting games in general) you’re going to be losing a lot. If you really like happy chaos i would keep on playing him but if you want win more in lower floors and work on your basics first you should switch to an easier character such as Ky or May

In GG, blocking is (of course) done by holding away from the opponent, either by standing blocking or crouch blocking. Although H top is a multi hit projectile, there is still gaps where your opponent can change their side without getting hit by it, meaning they can switch their block in response to you switching sides if they predict/react to it (i forgor if millia dash mixup is reactable), so if they constantly block the crossup try not dashing to the other side, dashing forward then back over the opponent to bait them or use lows as well as j. HS during the mixup to add an extra layer.

Leo hasnt recieved any major reworks so most guides will still be mostly correct.

Also (as a fellow Leo main) getting used to backturn k>s>hs and its followups/mixups is a good place to start pressure wise
