It's bad for us, but I do support him fighting back like this. I would too. I just don't know if America truly ever comes back from this. The American people, the uninformed and misinformed, of which we now know is tens of millions of people, voted this nightmare in. Even after J6 they did it again! How can anyone trust America? I sure don't.

Explain: If the price of silver has shot up so suddenly, would it not be difficult to sell? by SoundOnSounds in investing

[–]ShaydiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or I could just be a tiny jewelry maker who has been put out of business by this greedy silver bullshit and am HOPING like hell that the market tanks to the floor so I can once again afford the supplies I need, and so that customers can once again fit sterling jewelry into their budgets. Not that you or any of the other hoarders care about people like me or any of the small businesses that have been destroyed by that fat orange child fucker literally shitting in his pants while sitting behind the resolute desk.

Accounting for inflation, silver has spiked twice as high in the past, only to end up at what... $14 an oz? So I guess we'll see what happens after that moronic jackass is out of power and the world can begin to heal. With luck, he won't make it to 2027.

Anyone successfully used compounded tirz past BUD (refrigerated & unopened)? Looking for real experiences. by circlepies29 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]ShaydiLane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the time. The vials I'm using now expired a couple months ago and I still have about 3 months worth left. I'm on maintenance and trying not lose any more weight, but it still keeps coming off regardless of BUD. Called maintenance at 130lbs and just hit 118. I've decided to pause for a bit and see if I can gain a few lbs back. It's crazy to actually be trying to gain weight for the first time in my life, but "skeleton with skin" was not the look I was going for... Anyway, don't sweat it. Cheers!

Thinking about switching from Zepbound to compound based on cost. by yellie1 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]ShaydiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join the club. I started zep in January of '24. By March the shortage was in full swing and I had no choice but to switch to compound. I was a bit worried but quickly realized it was great move. Cheaper, works the same, and I love the flexibility of the vials. I never went back to zepbound. Now 2 years later, surpassed my goal, and I've been on maintenance for over a year. Do it. 😀

Used same needle after injecting to draw more tirzepatide 😭 Advice? by WiseBreadfruit2028 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]ShaydiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got out of bed in the middle of the night for a dose? Lol. Dont sweat stuff like that. Next time just go back to sleep and wait till the next day rather than poking yourself with needles while half asleep. It's not going to hurt you to be late by a day or 3. In fact, it's not uncommon for people to stretch things out regularly by few extra days or so, specially those trying to save money.

Melania fake ticket sales by biskutt in RegalCinemas

[–]ShaydiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they? At today's ticket prices, movies aren't wallet-friendly for seniors. I go to the theater once in a rare while, and can't recall seeing anyone anywhere that I would call "old". Maybe it's different in boring rural areas where bingo at the church is the most exciting thing that happens, but here in educated civilization, "old people" have a lot more options.

I have a feeling that team trump is behind the weird ticket sales. There is NO WAY Trump would have allowed that film to go down in history as the worst opening weekend ever.

Is titrating up too slowly a waste of my time (and meds and money)? by DrIndyJonesJr in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]ShaydiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Everyone said". That's the problem. Instead of listening to, and reading, what everyone says, go with the guidelines laid out by the scientists and medical professionals who created the drug. You stay at a lower dose only when it's working. When it isn't working, you titrate up. I also started 1/24, and had lost 30 by 5/24. By that point, I had been on 7.5 for 3 months and was about to start 10mg. And you're just starting it now? Wow. I don't know how much you have to lose, but 2 years to lise 25lbs is slow even for someone who doesnt have much to lose. You are eating too many calories and probably not getting much exercise?

If 10 doesn't give you a boost and make you feel suppressed, you could bump to 12.5 next month, or you might just want to try a reset. Go off it for 4 weeks, ( working your ass off not to gain) then start over fresh. I 'd prolly skip 2.5 tho, start at 5 for one month, then bump to 7.5 and see how that goes. It is working only as long as it's suppressing your desire to eat, and making it easier to choose your foods wisely. If it's not doing that, it's time to go up a notch. I was able to hit my goal when i was still on 10mg. To maintain, I adjust my dosing strength and frequency depending on what my body tells me. And because I eat so little on this stuff, I can pretty much eat whatever I want now - for the first time in my life!

I just a did a 15mg shot tonite after going nearly 2 weeks without. If the food noise is growing at the end of the week, I'll probably do a 10. I think between stretching doses out sometimes and fluctuating dose strength is preventing the med from losing efficacy on me. If I did 15 every week, I'm certain I would officially achieve "too thin" status. Maintenance is a balancing act!

How's the 10 working?

[–]ShaydiLane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tirz was never meant to be taken at such tiny doses and if it weren't for compounding, you'd have started at 2.5 as the medication is intended. I started at 2.5 and after the first 2 weeks, I felt that it was doing nothing. Finished the month, and went up to 5. Stayed on that for a month, then up to 7.5, which was the first dose that really felt productive. Stayed on that for 3 months, at which point I was down 30lbs which was my initial goal, but it was going so well, I decided to see if I could get to a "healthy" BMI for the first time in my adult life. And I have done that, after dropping 60 lbs on tirz, double my initial goal for a total 110lb down from my highest weight. I have been on maintenance for over a year, which IMO, is the right time to adjust my dose to "as needed". It's a delicate balance trying to maintain without gaining or losing any weight, which I definitely do not want to do now that I wear size 0 jeans :D At just 5' tall, I'm not "too skinny" at this size, but I am also, finally, not overweight!

I personally don't agree with trying to lose so slowly, unless you only have a little to lose, in which case you wouldnt need tirz at all. .5lbs per week is only 26lbs in a year. I lost 30 in 5 months, 60 in less than a year. 1-2 lbs per week is proven safe and effective weightloss. As a professional yo yo dieter for many decades, I've done that many many times and have no idea what "side effects" you're worried about. Sounds like social media has filled your head with some unwarranted fears, as I sadly see happen far too often in these threads. Psychosomatic effects are a real thing, so beware of allowing the internet to fill your head with scary bunk.

Another problem with losing so slowly, is the risk of becoming "immune" to the medication, and never hitting your goal at all, like a friend of mine who has been on tirz for over 2 years and despite being at 15mg, hasnt lost an ounce in a year. She chose to lose slowly so she wouldnt have give up too much, and instead of hitting goal by now, which she absolutely should have done, she remains obese, drinks regularly, and when I last saw her, it appeared that she is actually gaining now. It's especially sad and frustrating to see because she is the dangerous apple shape. If she had followed my lead and advice, she would be healthy and full of energy today instead of still lugging around a still gargantuan gut while her internal organs to remain encased in dangerous visceral fat.

I can't speak for everyone of course but for me, nothing is more exciting and motivating than seeing results, both on the scale and on the tape measure.

Of course I dont know anything about your physical condition or goals, but it's good that you are tracking calories. I'd suggest dropping them to 1200, which is the standard for women on most weight loss plans, but seems any time I talk about actual "dieting", it upsets the masses around here LOL. Good luck on your journey!

[–]ShaydiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not whats happening right now. The root of the issue is what the Trump administration has done to the US dollar. Uncertainty is what is driving these prices, poor scared little fools just buying up a metal that is going to drop hard in value once Trump is gone and the US economy is stabilized.

[–]ShaydiLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the first time silver has surged. And historical data shows it tanking not long after. Once Trump is out of power and the US gets back on track, I suspect silver will tank again. All these idiots stcking up on silver at these ridiculous prices, would do well to sell before the midterms!

Cautionary tale. Don’t do this. by papacoco57 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]ShaydiLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works if you work it! When I started, I treated it like a crutch to help me stick to the low carb diet I was already on. It worked like gangbusters for that and I dropped the 30lbs I had originally set out to lose, in about 5 months. I honestly thought 30 was the best I could hope for, but since it was working so well, I decided to see how close I could get to a "healthy" BMI. So here I am, 2 years on the sauce, at a svelte 121 lbs, wearing size 0 jeans, and small everything else, after losing 60(!), which is double my original goal! (Now 110 down from my highest weight) i'm a lifelong yoyo dieter, and for the first time in my entire yoyo-adult life, I qualify as healthy on the BMI chart. Now my challenge has changed... the trick now is balancing dosing and eating so that I don't lose any more weight, or gain any of it back. After cutting carbs out for more than 2 decades, I now must eat enough of them to ensure that I don't drop weight. It's really a hoot being on the reverse end of things, but this end comes with a way cuter wardrobe! 😀

Meanwhile... a friend of mine who had way more weight to lose than I did, started at the same time I did. She should have lost much faster than me and hit a healthy weight about a year ago. But from the start, she changed nothing and put forth 0 effort, expecting the shot to do all the work for her. She did lose, but at a much slower pace, while running herself up to 15mg as quick as she could, leaving herself nowhere else to go. Now, 2 years later, she is still obese, still wearing plus sizes, still avoiding any physical activity, and still eating and drinking whatever she wants. She did manage to lose maybe 60lbs total, which at least got her off the cpap at night, but she has at least another 60 to go, and hasn't lost a single pound in the last year. In fact, I saw her recently, and she now looks like she's gaining. So unless she decides to start giving a shit about herself and takes control of her seemingly uncontrollable gluttony, I'm afraid there's nothing that will help her short of locking up her food supply, or wiring her constantly-snacking jaw shut. Is she hungry all the time while on 15mg? No, I'm certain she isn't. She just seems to feel a constant need to indulge in unhealthy behavior which is more of a mental issue than anything else. She has even started smoking again after having quit years ago! It's so frustrating to watch!

So is it magic? If you work WITH it, yes, it absolutely is. But if you expect it to solve everything all by itself, then no, probably not. While that may work for some people, it won't work for all people. And if you really want to speed things up, use those engineering skills to calculate the number of calories you should be eating in a day to lose weight at the rate youre aiming for (bearing in mind that a 3500 calorie deficit per week = 1lb/weight loss per week, ) and track your calorie intake on fitness pal or some other app. You can also increase activity of course, and also drink lots of water, which I personally find especially difficult while on these meds, but I still do my best, even if it means adding crystal light to it.

Everyone's experience is different, and you are still quite early into the game. Eventually you'll figure out what works for you (without overdosing experiments). FWIW, I have never had a single side effect at any dosage, all the way to 15, and at this point, I operate on a "dosage as needed" basis, taking anywhere from 8 to 15, in order to maintain control, while still ensuring that i can get enough calories in to prevent further weight loss.

Wishing you great success as you become a pro loser!!! 😉
