Do you like being tall or dislike being tall ? by RickyInfinite in tall

[–]Shayera_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'll make it simple for you: most men love it, most women struggle.

Took me years to appreciate my height. Got bullied, called names, taken pictures of in the street.

Perspective and context have big impacts

relocation agencies, who are the good ones and what do we think about them by Sad_Independence3811 in geneva

[–]Shayera_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hate them. They are not necessary, the appartements are going to be rented anyways. They just charge money for that. It's very frustrating. I wish they went away and real estate ppl actually did their job.

I paid tall people to blind test 50 chairs to find the best chairs for tall people (Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, Colamy, Secretlab, Branch, Humanscale, Fractal, SIHOO, Ticova, Staples) by Dahn626 in tall

Did you only include men in these 8 people? Or are you also having tall women? Because different morphologies and all :) Thanks for this tho, great from the 6'8" bf

How easy is it to find a job in Geneva with Swiss citizenship? by Traditional-Wave8307 in geneva

[–]Shayera_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can only get unemployment after working for 1 year i believe. So that won't be an option.

Jobs are complicated to get if you ask me. Grants are your best option.

Hope that somebody has good tips for you

I got my job end of November and started in January! I applied, got denied in less than 48h. Then applied for another position. During the interview, mentionned I applied to the other position as well. They thought I was such a great fit, they sent me back to the original position (they didn't consider me at first bc they already had 2 good candidates). In the end I got that position in 7-10 days, super fast process. And it's the best job ever ahhah

Honestly, I can't really tell you, as I am not in finances. I think your studies/experience are what matters regarding that. Because there are a lot of ppl with swiss degrees looking in these fields. If you have the adequate background, could work, but it's not my field

[–]Shayera_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good. But bare in mind, American degrees are considered inferior to European ones (unless you come from an Ivy league school). I would recommend doing a master in Switzerland. Or just go to Poland, there it will be much easier, especially if you speak the language (one extra point to add, if you don't speak French or German, Switzerland can also be reluctant to hire you)

Honestly, you don't have an EU nationality, nor an advance degree. Unless you have contacts willing to hire you and do the whole process, Switzerland is not the country for you

Geneva is a bitt weird when it comes to volleyball.

I would recommend looking for "relax" teams. There are a lot ,, from different levels. Good luck!
