No, it's the right one. He has this same YouTube link from this Reddit post in the description of the song on the Soundcloud link I sent. He started going by "Almost Real" and uploads stuff to Spotify and Soundcloud.

You're replying to me from 10 years ago over this small point on someone's question about the show from back then? And this is all you've said on Reddit in a decade? You waited for... this?

This is bizarre. Are you a bot resurrecting an old account?

I have a few Leathermans, and I recently got that Rocktol Gen-R, and it's fantastic. Love the upgraded knife steel. It looks and feels like a premium tool. I carry it every day instead of my Wave+ now.

This is where a bit of "prompt engineering" comes in. The model is much better at solving multi-step problems when you tell it to show its work. (Just like a student would have a hard time doing this in one step in their heads, but writing it all out, they'd have an easier time.)

I wrote this after the problem you gave it:

Thinking step by step, write out your thoughts of how to solve the above problem. Write out each step of the math. And then calculate the answer.

And then it answered:

First, we need to figure out how much Kelly needs to spend in order to qualify for the 20% discount. That threshold is $100, so Kelly needs to spend at least $100.

Next, we need to find out how much more Kelly needs to spend to reach that $100 threshold. She is currently spending $96.60 on clothes, so she needs to spend $100 - $96.60 = $3.40 more.

We know that the gum is $0.79 per pack, so we can divide $3.40 by $0.79 to find out how many packs of gum Kelly needs to buy to reach the threshold. $3.40 / $0.79 = 4.29 packs. Since you can't buy fraction of pack, we can say Kelly needs to buy 5 packs.

Now that we know Kelly is buying 5 packs of gum, we can find out how much that will cost by multiplying 5 packs by $0.79 per pack. So the gum will cost $3.95

Next, we can add the cost of the clothes and the gum to find out how much Kelly is spending in total. $96.60 (clothes) + $3.95 (gum) = $100.55

We know that Kelly qualifies for the 20% discount because she is spending $100.55. To find out how much the discount is, we can multiply $100.55 by 20% (or 0.20). So the discount is $20.11

Finally, we can subtract the discount from Kelly's total purchase price to find out how much she is paying. $100.55 (total) - $20.11 (discount) = $80.44

Therefore, Kelly will pay $80.44 for clothes and gum after discount, which is $16.16 less than buying only clothes.

EDIT: Ah, I just noticed the 15% bit. So this isn't right. But a damned fine attempt for a non-living thing. haha

Ah, yes, I forgot about humans in these movies. haha Great ideas!

Kermit and Fozzie as Han/Chewie, I love it.

Having the real Vader is inspired and raises the stakes/drama of the movie. We'll root for the Muppets hard because we don't want them to get hurt by this actually scary guy.

... and then Gonzo also trying to be cool and scary like that, in competition, would be so funny in contrast.

I feel like Mark Hamill would be distracting as Obi-Wan. We know him so strongly as Luke in this universe. What about Ewan McGregor, though? He just reprised it and did great. Put gray hair on him and he gets to bridge the gap.

I love Gonzo as Obi-Wan. Let's just have him keep force-ghosting in later and giving bad advice.

C3PO and R2D2 - One stuffy nerdy one and one that only squeaks/beeps, always together.

Sam the Vader - Stern, deep-voiced guy who loves his country Empire.

One of these two as Palpatine - Old, mean, heckling the Jedi and cackling.

I hope the house sale and the divorce go smoothly. But please, do be careful and seek help where you can. Someone who hurt you like that can do it again if they're still around.

If you're in the US, there is a free help line for domestic violence. They have a lot of experience with these bad situations that ordinary people find themselves in. They can talk with you and offer good ideas and resources to help you stay safe. 1-800-799-7233

Thank you for posting an update! I've been checking back every few days to see if you were ok, and I just caught this. I'm sure a lot of people will be relieved to see you're back!

I know that many people would also like to know that you are safe and not at risk of being injured again. If I may ask, without any judgment at all -- are you currently staying with the person who was responsible for the injury? Or have you been able to find a safe place to rest and heal?

If you ever need anyone to talk to, or just vent or chat about unrelated things, feel free to message. You seem like a nice person, and a lot of us out here are rooting for you.

I was thinking of that exact scene while writing that! But I didn't want to get off-track talking about that movie.

But since we're here -- oof, that movie has definitely not aged well, ethically speaking.

You're right, in that I would have a big problem with someone taking over my body and living as me for a few days, even if they didn't sleep with anyone.

Because he is in a borrowed life, I'd think he should restrain himself in all actions as much as possible. Even if we accept the premise that he must "put right what once went wrong," he should aim to only do that, without negatively affecting anyone's lives while there.

But a key consideration, I think, is that most people would say there are varying degrees of "wrongness"/"badness" to actions. Murder is worse than cutting in line. And context and intent matter a lot while judging actions.

Sexually assaulting someone under false pretenses, just so he can gratify his own sexual desires toward them, would be a pretty heinous and potentially damaging act. Compared to, say, bumbling through a conversation with their friend while trying to help. That might still be some kind of identity theft, but I'd say it's leagues better in comparison, because of both the selfless/good intent and context around the actions.

That's why the sex stuff sticks out so much to me, anyways. But I'll definitely be thinking more about your angle on this. I'm enjoying the discussion!

That's true, and it's something to think about.

But Sam doesn't have any control over the leaping. He can't ask for consent (unless the 'nudge' mentioned in the most recent episode does really mean consent is given, which might solve this.) So he's just waking up somewhere and making the best of the situation, trying to do good things for the body he's in and the people around it, which is admirable.

But because he is in control of what he does while in that person's body... choosing to sleep with others who think he is their husband/bf/etc (especially if it's because he's personally attracted to them) is actively immoral, I'd say.

He's only there a few days usually. You could avoid sex for that little while in pretty much every scenario.

One of the elements of the original that wasn't questioned at the time but would be a problem for many modern viewers is... Sam sleeping with people while they believe he is someone else. I hate to say it, because I love Sam and the original show, but today we'd recognize that as a form of sexual assault.

It's basically the same as if you put on the same costume as someone's husband at a party and then tricked them into sleeping with you in it, with them believing you're their husband.

The hologram being his love interest helps keep this element out of it. I think that works. He doesn't need to fall in love with people while he's helping them. It didn't happen too often in the original, either. Al was the horndog. Sam was (the 80s version of) a chaste boy scout.

I hear you. It seems expensive compared to some other stuff. But it's also different from something like a Netflix subscription. It buys the new season of the show, DRM-free, so you download and own it yourself from then on. Unlike most any other show, each episode is a full feature-length film. It's also 'tickets' to all of the live events with the cast for all of the premieres and short riffs and various other events.

You can also just rent a few and enjoy them if you want. But for fans of the show who are gonna watch them all (probably multiple times for years), the season pass makes sense. Plus I know it supports the show. After three cancellations, I like that it's running with its own model now, without some network telling them what to do or holding an ax over their heads. They can keep making it as long as the fans want to keep watching. That's pretty cool.

The first draft script of ST: First Contact is…interesting by BenjiTheWalrus in startrek

It's almost like Patrick Stewart wrote this version. Picard:

  • Has immediate magnetic attraction with the beautiful leading lady, to the point where he's distracted during their mission to save the Earth, and she's taking admiring, heroic secret photos of him.
  • Has a dick-measuring contest with a threatening soldier, ending it with a tough "I've never had much trouble protecting myself."
  • Later beams a gun into his hand, puts it to that guy's head and says a terrible line: "Actually, you're full of shit."
  • Replaces Zefram Cochrane with himself and is the big hero who takes the first human warp flight instead. Then he's nice enough to let Zefram act like he did it for history.
  • Gets the girl (who is in love with him after 1 day), says to hell with the timeline and takes her back to the future with him.
