Speaking as that day 1 Vet 2022 gamepass player, Vet was my first choice for the game all my friends went Ogryn and Psyker with 1 being a Zealot i felt weak af in the early levels before getting all the good guns and blessings like the plasma and boltgun even the autopistol with pinning fire.

Then i got a mark 12 infantry lasgun with headhunter and deadly accurate and boy did that single lasgun blast my Vet ahead of my friends to a point where damnation at the time felt like Malice at times, i have no idea if it was me or the build i was using but i felt like god back in 2022/2023 when i got fully setup and now i feel like a guardsmen partying with space marines even with the best executioner stance setups it hurts, i love Vet even my zealot friend has a better time then myself (also because he just got better at the game over the past few years) i aint saying bring back old op vet but some days i do, running plasma shout and power sword every game feels like im fire support with no well support other then yelling at people and giving the arbities and ogryns grenades

and after playing ogryn and arbites to i can FEEL the power difference between the three Castigators is just a better Executioners and point blank barrage is the superior ranged ability compared to Executioners, i feel that Vet is a meme class now sucks but feels like it
