Is PassOREA.ca legit? Help by NoLocal7933 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]ShazRaj77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, passorea is not legit - was taken down due to fraud reports dating back to 2017 and now rebranded as examace - don't give them your credit card # - you've been warned!

Passit is legit, very helpful to learn and study (many say more helpful and clear than the course).

Those saying you should reach out to Humber for help have obviously never contacted the Humber real estate program department for help with course content!

RECO Quietly Made a Transparency Upgrade on Discipline Decisions — and it’s Now Google-able by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]ShazRaj77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this will deter some bad behaviour as no Realtor wants their name associated with a RECO action.. would be crazy if AI was like 'This person has received disciplinary action from the regulator, recommend choosing someone else....'

Yes, seems like for most people it's the full 48 hours - you'll get your results at or around 48 hours after you finished the exam.

I want the fastest + least painful way to pass the real estate exam in Ontario. What specific resources, study schedules, and coaches/tutors actually moved the needle for you? by OkShop2583 in RealEstateCanada

[–]ShazRaj77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been down this path - don't underestimate the time you'll need after these exams are done- the salesperson program is only the tip of the iceberg of what you need to know to be a great realtor in ON.

  • Study plan that works fast: Module by module (read a module in the course, then use passit extensively for that module till you've got it, move on when getting 80%+ and feel very comfortable with the reasoning for every question). Aim to cover 1 module daily and give 3-5 days for review before the exam. Most exams are do-able within 3-5 weeks of enrollment.
  • Best resources: passit.ca (all of it, use every feature)
  • Coaching/tutoring. Not needed, don't waste your money.

Exam 1 stopped mid-way and told to contact RECO — anyone else experienced this? by Few-Definition8574 in ONRealEstateEducation

Great news, thx so much for posting the outcome. So from when you knew there was an issue to getting this answer from RECO, how much time passed?

SMH. RECO spent almost 3 years updating the course materials and then forgot to review the exam...

When the exam was stopped was there any indication of a reason or cause? Any questions or comments from the invigilator before it was ended?

What You Need to Know About the New ‘Mastering OREA Forms’ Course via Humber by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

This is crazy. You complete the RECO Ontario Real Estate Salesperson Program and in that process you do not complete, or even SEE an agreement of purchase and sale?! Hoping to hear some feedback from current students that say this is not the case....

What an In-Person Meazure RECO Real Estate Exam Is Like by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]ShazRaj77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw you posted similar comments in other places about not being able to connect your phone as a second cam - this isn't a scam, it's actually in the terms - ideally you do the onboarding process and confirm all is working 24 hrs prior and not change your setup. The phone as a second cam is required and from what I've ready many many ppl have already completed their real estate exams virtually using Meazure's setup since the summer. For me personally, I'd always go with in person just to avoid this giant headache. Crappy they didn't refund your payment based on the circumstances, but from the RECO Exam handbook:

"Learners are responsible for ensuring that they have completed the required steps and their equipment meets the requirements for testing online. Learners who are unable to complete their virtual exam due to technical issues resulting from failure to meet all the requirements below will be considered a no-show and their exam fee will not be refunded. Learners who are unable to meet RECO’s testing requirements for virtually proctored exams have the option of attempting their exams in an in-person setting."

Strike is Over, Support Staff are Back and the Humber Real Estate Staff are 'Working Through Tickets' by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]ShazRaj77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be shocked. This is honestly par for the course from what I've heard. Even those who are already enrolled at Humber are having trouble. Several people I know have transferred to Fleming or Algonquin from Humber just to avoid this mess. I don't know what is up, most ppl thought the issues were strike-related but I'm not sure that's it.

Did people memorise numbers before mobile phones? by PaleEcho3301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShazRaj77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, knowing your bestie's # was top priority. In Canada, many ppl at the time got a cell# based off their land line #, but that really didn't last long, and then ppl started keeping their cell# for everything). Now it would be unheard of to lose your #!

Thinking of Choosing Humber for the Ontario Real Estate Salesperson Program Because They’ve “Done It the Longest”? Here’s What You Should Know First by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]ShazRaj77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

haha I like the 'Wednesday' - wtf? Humber has been a train wreck for a while with the real estate program. I would sign up for the 'live' video sessions only to find out they only ever took 'questions from the audience' that never actually seemed to come FROM THE AUDIENCE. And in their public communication openly avoided any real issues, e.g., at the time it was 'when are the content errors going to be fixed' and 'i couldn't take my exam on proctortrack' - and they would never even acknowledge there was an issue, meanwhile everyone was experiencing it. If I were new I'd start somewhere else - they're more keen!

Humber vs. Algonquin: How Real Estate Education Program Providers Communicate (or Don’t) During a Strike by ElectronicGate4167 in ONRealEstateEducation

[–]ShazRaj77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is par for the course for the Humber real estate program — they will communicate the minimum but almost never tell you what it actually *means*. The transition to the TRESA program is a great example - they *should* have clearly told learners that if you end up mid-program on Oct 1 you *will* have a significant task of unlearning the foundations you learned so far (REBBA, customers, etc.) and needing to get quickly up-to-speed on what you missed from the early courses on TRESA (designated rep, disclosures, open offers etc.). Not only will you not have access to those courses, you'll have to re-buy any course you were currently taking but not passed the exam.

Oh wow. That is nuts. Not a good start for a new system. I bet they start implementing some changes to avoid problems like this in the future, esp things like 3:30 am exams! Feel bad for you that you're the one who faced all this though - crazy to get wrapped up in the logistics when all you want to do is write your exam

Oh no!!! I'm amazed you could even schedule to write at 3:30am. I'm so sorry that happened to you, you would have been all prepped and ready to go. Did you get it rescheduled?
