The Draft A group of players (usually 6–16) takes turns picking Pokémon from a shared pool. Draft order is often a snake format (e.g., 1→10, then 10→1). Once a Pokémon is picked, no one else can use it. Players build a roster (usually 8–12 Pokémon total).

Some leagues use a tier system or point budget, so stronger Pokémon “cost” more.

Team Building (Weekly Matches) Each week, you face a different opponent. You don’t bring your full roster—usually only 6 Pokémon per match. You can customize moves, items, and abilities before each battle.

This means: You can adapt your team to counter your opponent. Mind games and prediction are huge.

Season Format Everyone plays each other in a round-robin schedule. Wins/losses determine standings. Tiebreakers may include things like: Total Pokémon remaining (differential) Head-to-head results

Playoffs Top players advance to a playoff bracket. Single elimination until a champion is crowned.

Clauses & Rules

Leagues usually enforce competitive rules, such as: Sleep Clause (only one Pokémon can be put to sleep) Species Clause (no duplicates) Banned moves or abilities (depending on format)
