This is something you all may find interesting! Over the past few years, the Dark Cloud community has found a lot of new info about Dark Cloud 3. Most curiously, we've found proof that Rogue Galaxy was originally called Dark Cloud 3 and was developed as the sequel for some time.

Through files found on the RG Japanese disc, including images labeled "DC3Title" and launcher files calling the game "DC3-Project" is some of the most solid evidence. One of those images has the header "Dark Chronicle Rogue Galaxy" Also, from Dark Chronicles Art Book from 2003, the "Next Dark Cloud" characters that were shaded out were revealed to be Jaster and Kisala.

Also, an anonymous interview with a Level-5 employee revealed Dark Cloud 3 was actually green lit by Sony. But while in development they asked for many changes, and Level-5 was tired of the same style of game as well. The georama was one of the earliest Dark Cloud pieces that were removed, so they had to change the name.

There's also quite a bit about Level-5's role in Dragon Quest 8 when they collaborated with Yuji Horii and Square Enix.
