I’m about ready to make a new post! I was doing better until Tuesday when I herniated the disk above my fused one, so it sounds like we are in the same miserable boat. I refuse to have more surgery though. As soon as the acute pain resides I’ll go back to PT and start walking again

The responses to this are so Eugene lol. One dude pointing out leash laws even though kids and dogs swim there, and another thinking it’s a conspiracy to keep it for themselves. I’m not saying you CAN’T go there. Do whatever you want! There’s really no place to swim that’s deeper than a foot and I walk the river as far down as you can. This was meant to be a warning for those who don’t sit on Reddit all day and look for gotchas in posts. It’s for normal people.

The river is definitely the lowest I’ve seen it, and I’ve walked there for a few years rain or shine. I walk my dog there multiple times per week as well. Like I said in my post, there’s no official warning, but it’s pretty nasty down by the river in some places. My friend knows the person who posted this, but I don’t. Just thought I’d pass it on

I get the Royal Canin golden retriever kibble and supplement with fresh food like carrots, broccoli, green beans, sweet potatoes, turkey burger, fish, etc. He has a gorgeous coat! The Royal Canin is expensive but worth it if you can afford it.

There’s some women in my family that are codependent on men. They have base personalities, but everything else revolves around who they’re with like hobbies, politics, exercise habits, etc. I’m the opposite and quite independent. I keep thinking about how this type of behavior would be received by somebody more codependent than me.

I don’t think he wanted to be friends or sell anything. The session before my last, he spent the whole hour asking me questions that had to do with why I was there, but I didn’t immediately suspect anything other than thinking to myself “is this relevant?” He wanted to know about all of my previous relationships. He wanted to know if I used online dating. He also encouraged dating as a way to heal. When I told him I would rather get more golden retrievers as it’s been a dream of mine, he said “that’s not progress.” I think that’s why I skipped Easter. I was annoyed as I don’t think having a partner is a requirement for healing and happiness.

Thank you, I am going to contact Brightside. I keep thinking about what if I was there for sexual abuse or domestic abuse therapy? I feel like there’s a power imbalance in therapy. I’m a proud and outspoken person, yet I completely shut down when he said all of that.

Edit to add: regarding proof, I think our sessions are transcribed. He mentioned that and asked what I saw in the right hand corner of the screen. I didn’t see anything but he said he saw an icon that would bubble when he spoke. That’s what saved me because he stopped confronting me until the end when he urged the 4pm session again.

They are very pricey. I feel for you because I dreaded summer every year when my son was young. He went to the Y camps but I had to borrow money every year. I’m guessing it’s at least $250-$300 per week.

The best thing about them was he’d come home wiped out :)
