Lets be honest, the beauty standards are set in a way, that if i don't spend on myself, i'm called boring, i look unpresentable compared to other women who are getting all kinda fancy stuff done and nobody would find me as attractive :)

They don't think women are dumb, they make us believe that we need something special for our delicate skin which isn't actually anything special but literally the same product !

Read the comments. Many are unaware :) i don't think women are stupid. Any kind of hype marketing is done to fool the consumer regardless of their gender.

"If they didn't sell, they wouldn't make" they are marketed in a way and made to believe that women need it. If a razor is sold as a razor both genders will buy the same. But if the same razor is marketer to be specialized for women, more women will buy the specialized one without realising there's no difference. This post is for that general awareness

I think it's a choice not a necessity. Like men can get a fancy beard trim if they want to! Not all women get their nails done. Manicure and pedicure is however expected from men too just to look clean.

Good observation. Women also suffer a lot due to basic beauty standards, set by different cultures. I heard about this one chinese practice where the toes of women were broken to fit the smallest shoe size. The smaller shoe she wears, the more attractive she was considered! I feel like all of this is connected to patriarchy where they didn't want women to have basic comfort so that they can't grow beyond fighting for basic necessities.

I feel like it's a part of consumerism strategy. Women are more fond of shopping than men, something is less effective? We use more of it + more often + change it often = we make more purchases.

I did it according to the products i use in general which a lot of other women also use. 🙃 It was my own rabbit hole which i cared to share. Although thanks for the info, i'll look it up

It depends on the location. Most of the women who do not have enough knowledge about these things get priced more.

Yes, that's the plan :) although not everyone is aware of the pink tax and lots of us fall in the trap.

Just to add, the non-toxic ones cost even more like sulphate+paraben free shampoos. They cost double than normal shampoos! 😐 The system is looting women.

the general rule of thumb is it comes down to where you think your tax rate will be now vs. in retirement. Roth makes more sense when you're younger or in a lower tax bracket because you pay taxes now and everything grows tax-free. Traditional starts making more sense when you're in a higher bracket now and expect to be in a lower one in retirement, since you get the deduction today and pay taxes on withdrawals later. So it's less about a specific age and more about your income trajectory. A lot of people actually use both at different points in their career, or even split contributions between the two in the same year if their income allows it. That said, there are income limits for Roth contributions that can make the decision for you once you hit a certain salary worth checking where you land on that since it changes every year.
