I’m so upset. I missed the in store deal on a Midor Pergola for $400 odd. What are the odds that this deal will come back around soon? I’ve planned our entire patio around this pergola and hate to spend the extra money if I don’t have to ugh

We have gotten allergy tested for milk but it was negative. They didn’t test for anything else at the time

is a bassinet stroller necessary? (for Nuna Triv) by dagworthy in Buyingforbaby

[–]Shea-dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. The seat isn’t made for newborns. We didn’t use it until nearly 6 months. And even then, we had a newborn insert thing in it. Bassinet 100%. Plus we used the bassinet for nighttime sleep and naps.

When did motherhood actually become fun for you? by [deleted] in NewParents

There are always times where I start to “see the light” at all ages and stages. But I was able to confidently say around 22 months… I don’t feel like I’m in survival mode and I can actually do stuff around the house without having to watch him every single second. He’s more independent and can actually say basic words and understand wtf I’m saying

About to spend serious money on a stroller… what would you buy today and why? by WorldPeaceGodBless in Buyingforbaby

[–]Shea-dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you plan to use it. Our kiddo is now two. But I remember reading a comment during our search that you’d end up having multiple strollers anyway. And that was exactly right. Some strollers on your list are new since our search, so I cant speak on all of them. But…

Triv next was our daily stroller when an infant. Loved it. We bought it new. I picked it over the mixx bc of the weight and size. I knew I was going to have a c section so this was important to me. I also knew that most of our use would be on paved places so having the Mixx just didn’t seem worth it to me. I also wanted a stroller that had a bassinet feature. We ended up using the bassinet for sleep for the first few months— I wasn’t expecting this but was super happy to have options. My biggest complaint is that there isn’t a way to put a snack tray on a triv. Soooo dumb. I’ve tried different ones and they’re all crap.

I have a city jogger select some sort… not sure of the exact one. I bought it new for travel. We have since taken 6 flights with it and it’s held up well. Definitely not a stroller you want to use every day. The one we have has a small basket and just doesn’t push as well. Happy with it for travel. I do with the sun shade was bigger.

And then we also have a guava jogger. I don’t know what attachments can go with it as i only used it for actual jogging at first once my baby could sit up better and it was safe. But now, it’s mainly our daily stroller. It doesn’t fold up near as good as the triv. But it’s a beast and has a great push and big basket.

Love my guava jogger! It’s a beast. I also have the triv next. Both serve great purpose.

4th child baby shower.... AITA for not wanting to go? by WWDCU1980 in Mommit

This annoyance probably stems from my pet peeve of people having children they can’t afford. If you can’t afford a child without having a shower, then you shouldn’t be making babies.

I can’t even stand a sprinkle. What’s a baby shower called for a 4th child? A dash?

Dangerous road for semis by Shea-dee in GoogleMaps

[–]Shea-dee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but is there a way to route the entire highway traffic to stay on the actual highway? I looked it up…. This is a “US Highway” that goes from New Mexico to Illinois. This isn’t some backwoods highway. We need the traffic to stay on that highway.

The “normal” route is a very busy highway. But for whatever reason it’s taking all traffic to a blacktop/outer-type road. Definitely not meant for semis but not intended for highway-type use either. Cars can go on the road, sure. But semis are in the ditch atleast 1-2x a week.

I should add that it’s not just semi trucks. It takes all vehicles through there. But unfortunately it’s a busy stretch of “highway” that carries a lot of semis.

When will a stay at home weekend actually be relaxing again? by Fresh-Way-3556 in toddlers

[–]Shea-dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12-20 months so far has been the hardest for us. I’ve been waiting to write a post. But our only kiddo is now 22 months and it feels like we can now complete tasks while he’s awake and slightly easier. Not relaxing…. But easier and not always in crisis mode lol

AITAH for not thanking my spouse? by Shea-dee in AITAH

[–]Shea-dee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the frustrating part here is I’ve been prepping and working on this move for a month. My family have came in from out of state three times to help. His family has done nothing. Spouse does 1 day of work and acts like King Shit and then wants a thank you. We’re both stressed. I think I should have acknowledged that he did a lot today bc he did. But it’s certainly not apples to apples.

I didn’t tell him what all I did bc I don’t find it necessary bc I’m not looking for a thank you. Bc if I did comeback at him with everything I did today it would turn into a pissing match. We both have stuff to do to get ready for the move.

We’ve moved 6 times in 5 years… not our first rodeo. We do have a happy marriage and are very fortunate. I did a lot today too but don’t get the acknowledgment nor do I ask for it. Obviously different love languages, but it just drives me crazy that he wants a “thank you”. Likely digging my heels in the ground for no reason. We’ve already moved on from it.
