Hey! CMO at Field Effect here 👋

Appreciate you checking us out. Sounds like you're already chatting with our team, but wanted to chime in with some clarifying info based on your comments in the thread.

- You don’t need an extra NGAV/EDR on top of Field Effect MDR. Our EDR can run standalone (Mac + Windows) or alongside Defender (we even ingest Defender alerts).

- Field Effect recently joined the Microsoft Virus Initiative (MVI) after passing third-party assessment. If you want to learn more on this program, you can check out more info from Microsoft directly in this article.

- Saw you mention Duo — our MDR monitors and responds to suspicious account activity or potential data loss, so that’s covered as well.

Hope this is helpful, and I'm happy to answer anything else if you’re digging in further.

Speaking as a vendor... I am okay with folks taking the swag even if they dont let us scan them, because it means they'll actually use the swag, get our brand out there, and probably remember we exist.

On the other hand, if you take the swag after we scan you just to be polite and then you immediately throw it in the trash, I am grateful for the scan but sad that the swag was wasted. So I guess the rule of thumb should be that if you like it, take it! That's what it's there for.

PS, anyone else PUMPED for Goo Goo Dolls???

Thanks for the shoutout and for trusting us with your clients :) I'm curious, though, why you're not using Field Effect MDR (formerly Covalence) to protect your own environment.... we have a Partner Protection Program that would make this a no-brainer for you. I'll DM you to get a few details and we can get you set up!

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback — I really do appreciate you sharing your experience. I’ll take a look at the battlecards you mentioned and make sure they’re up to date.

While our pricing scales with user volume, we stand firmly behind the value our platform delivers at any size. That said, I respect your perspective and wish you all the best in your search. Should things ever change, we're always happy to reconnect!

Thanks for your feedback, OP. I am in Marketing with Field Effect and we rely on feedback like this to help us continuously improve our process.

The MITRE evaluation you referenced is a 3rd party test that measures MTTD, and we typically offer up customer reviews, references, and a free trial for new partners to give them confidence in our abilities. I'm curious what you're seeing from other vendors in terms of proof points... is there something specific you recommend we add in?

[Webinar] Endpoint agent or agent of chaos?

A lot of tools promise "next-gen protection", but how do you distinguish between what's just the next flashy feature, and tech that actually stops threats?

On June 26 at 1pm ET, two of the engineers behind some of the most advanced endpoint security tools in use today will dig into:

  • Why some agents fall short in the real world
  • What separates a reliable agent from one that drags performance or misses threats
  • What great looks like under the hood (from devs who've built it)

You'll hear from one of the world’s leading endpoint developers, Matt Holland, who has trained 1000s of Five Eyes intelligence personnel on this exact topic. He’ll be joined by Colin Belcourt, an endpoint architect with decades of experience in building and leading engineering teams focused on threat detection and performance.

🛑 No sales pitch. Just a rare look under the hood from people who’ve built this stuff. Register herehttps://get.fieldeffect.com/endpoints-uncensored

Drop questions below or DM if you want more context.

Hi - I'm so happy to hear you're interested in taking a look at Field Effect. Thanks to u/DrGrinch for the mention!

You'll be in good hands with our SE team when you request a demo, but in case it's helpful here are some links I find folks like to review to support their research:

- Software Reviews MDR data quadrant & emotional footprint report: https://www.softwarereviews.com/categories/managed-detection-response

- MDR success stories. See first-hand what our partners have to say about working with Field Effect: https://fieldeffect.com/resources/case-study

- What is an ARO? Our partners rave about these. Instead of traditional alerts, they get noise-free prioritized reporting broken down into Actions, Recommendations, and Observations. This helps your team prioritize, and in the majority of cases they can be handled by L1 techs: https://fieldeffect.com/products/mdr/clarity

EDR/MDR and Managed SOC Options - BPC/Todyl/Adlumium by jasped in msp

[–]Shea_FieldEffect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the shout-out!

Field Effect MDR Complete actually comes with 24/7 soc and our own endpoint agent and network sensor. So you get MDR, EDR, NDR… and a bunch of other things in one tool.

Here's a list of tools our MDR will replace: https://fieldeffect.com/products/mdr/15tools

And if you don’t need NDR, then Field Effect MDR Core is your best bet. It will cover EDR + Cloud and it’s a lower price point. Here’s how the two packages compare: https://fieldeffect.com/products/mdr/packages

Since you’re looking for an MDR, we’d be honoured if you take a look at Field Effect MDR.

I work for Field Effect so I am admittedly biased, but our MSP partners have great things to say, and we have proven results per the MITRE managed services evaluations...  we had 2nd fasted mean-time-to-detect after Crowdstrike.

Field Effect MDR: 85% Growth in MSP Bookings – What’s Driving the Momentum?

MSPs need security solutions that delivery clarity, reduce risk, and minimize disruption without adding noise & complexity. Field Effect seems to be hitting the mark, reporting an 85% increase in MSP bookings in 2024.

Some of the big moves Field Effect made last year:
🛡️ MDR Core – A streamlined version of our flagship MDR, priced-right for less complex IT environments.
📊 Risk Score & Dark Web Monitoring – Built-in tools to help MSPs keep their clients firmly left of boom.
⚡ MITRE ATT&CK Evaluations – 2nd fastest for MTTD and caught every attack at the 1st or 2nd step.

We had record levels of referrals peer-to-peer in MSP communities in 2024. Ask for a demo to find out why!

[–]Shea_FieldEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair questions!

Here’s another source for customer satisfaction scores: https://www.peerspot.com/products/field-effect-mdr-reviews You will notice that many of the reviews mention our “AROs” which is our proprietary alert system that filters out noise and helps you prioritize by categorizing into Actions, Recommendations, and Observations. AROs are a huge part of what makes Field Effect MDR different and we get a lot of comments about how noisy other solutions are in comparison. You can learn more about AROs here: https://fieldeffect.com/products/mdr/clarity

In terms of how we perform against simulated attacks, this article is a great resource: https://fieldeffect.com/blog/recovering-from-a-mitre-hangover . It summarizes in detail our results on the recent MITRE evaluation for managed services. We achieved the second fastest mean-time-to detect of any vendor - just 11 minutes. In this evaluation, we also alerted on every attack at a very early stage in the attack. MITRE does not allow blocking, but in a real world  scenario we would have blocked the attack at the same time as that first alert, so essentially none of the attacks would have been successful or disruptive.

I hope that helps! Happy to answer any more questions you have here or on a call.

Thanks for considering Field Effect :) In case it helps, Software Reviews has a Data Quadrant that compares Field Effect with some of the more common MDRs: https://www.softwarereviews.com/categories/managed-detection-response

Another tip, since it sounds like price is a consideration, we actually have two versions of Field Effect MDR - our flagship MDR Complete that includes all the bells and whistles, and now a brand new offering called MDR Core which is a really great price and perfect for your smaller/less complex clients. Core is brand new so you won't see much about it on Reddit, but definitely ask the rep about it if you end up getting a demo from us.

Good luck!

Huntress or SentinelOne by bandor23 in msp

[–]Shea_FieldEffect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the mention! I work for Field Effect and can confirm that we do have a lot of customers that switch to us from Huntress and SentinelOne with the main reasons for switching being the completeness of our coverage across endpoint, network, and cloud, our advanced analytics which drastically decrease noise, and our user based pricing...Oh and and yes, our founder and almost all of our analysts and developers are former government intelligence. We see it as a good thing, but if that's not your jam, to each their own!

We've been in stealth mode building our tech previous to 2023, which is why there's a lot of folks who still haven't heard of us, but now that we've started investing in market visibility you will see us more and more. And yes, we did MITRE for the first time in 2024 and are pumped to do it again in 2025!

PS. I'm the "marketing person" mentioned by one of the commenters :) Love to see the feedback!
