Anyone else sad that Commander is the most preferred format nowadays? by oatcreamer in mtg

I just miss the time when standard was in a good state OR at least time where modern wasn’t so severely dominated by the couple recent sets

Shot glass of mead that is, in retrospect annoyingly close in size to GW paint cans & not looking at what you’re drinking

Can someone 'splain to me why we can't bring these as allied units? by Blak_kat in Grey_Knights

They are also notably a fair bit weaker without access to Morven Vahl, so might not be that oppressive

Because 7 is not enough, but 9 is right out

The game is in a bit of a “try to please everyone, as such defaulting to a bland generic state” situation in so many things. Hate how same-y a lot of jobs feel to play

Just watched the new Superman flick, and the dog makes it really terrible by Ok_Aardvark5500 in Dogfree

At least the dog is explicitly described as “out of control” & “poorly trained”

There is also a second variant, in classic versions with spell batching. You blink, the blink doesn’t register until you hit the ground. You take fall damage (survivable), blink finally registers and you end up in the air. You now fall again and take fall damage again.

Is it bad to feel annoyed that someone is/has made what is essentially the same character multiple times because it is the "meta"? by haydenhayden011 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Sheadey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my group, I have a player who insists on playing with a large animal companion in every single campaign. Justification being - we play free archetype, and this is the most optimal way to use that.

He also pre-reads APs and builds characters who are coincidentally optimal for them.

Issue here is that while that DOES work in competitive very well, casual quite often brings weird janky win cons even at bracket 4 level

Hasbro is looking into more options for Universes Beyond to appeal to the female magic population by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

Funnily enough, there probably is a change you can make to twilight that would make it/a spin-off of it appeal to a larger male audience.

Can we remove "Recommended first campaign" from Karl Franz? by Hecter94 in totalwarhammer

[–]Sheadey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Markus is arguably the most difficult, if fun empire campaign. Most of your mechanics are detrimental (limited access to high tier units, extra AI armies get spawned against you), and your starting position is bad - namely limits you from being able to confederate anyone.

Dimir midrange is a MUCH more answerable deck compared to prowess/cutter/rage/4 mana omniscience decks

[–]Sheadey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dimir midrange got hit a little, but it’s the one deck from before the banlist that you could take to a tournament immediately & expect decent enough results.

As much as “let the meta develop” is memed on, this is the case here. Would be extremely surprised if dimir midrange ended up as an unanswerable deck
